Marian Rivera, Julia Montes, Jennylyn Mercado currently leading "Faces of the Year" Poll

Kapuso's Primetime Queen Marian Rivera is currently on top of US Girls' August Awards 2011 Poll for Faces of the Year.

As of 12 noon today, August 6, 2011, Marian has 1,167 votes or 43%, followed by another Kapuso star Jennylyn Mercado with 821 votes or 30%.

Meanwhile, teen star Julia Montes leads the Kapamilya nominees with 332 votes (12%).

During the 1st Us Girls August Awards in 2009, 3 winners were picked as Faces of the Year (Kim Chiu, Isabelle Daza and Tweety De Leon) while only 2 winners were named for the same category last year (Kim Chiu and Kristine Hermosa).

The voting for Faces of the Year and for the other categories are all being done on Us Girls' Facebook Page.

For the Most Fashionable Female category, Kim Chiu is so far the most popular choice with 62% while Dingdong Dantes is the leading choice as Most Fashionable Male having 39% of the votes, but Gerald Anderson is coming close with 31%.

Us Girls' August Awards 2011 nominees bared

Studio 23's "Us Girls" has revealed the nominees for its 3rd August Awards (2011) and among the nominees are controversial stars like Marian Rivera, Dingdong Dantes, Heart Evangelista and more.

You've heard the news about Heart Evangelista vs Marian Rivera over Dingdong Dantes, but for Us Girls' August Awards 2011 to be presented next month, they're not competing against each other, as all three of them are nominated in different categories.

Dingdong Dantes is nominated as Most Fashionable Male alongside John Lloyd Cruz, Gerald Anderson, Sam Milby, Jericho Rosales, Jake Cuenca and some other, while girlfriend Marian Rivera is nominated again as Face of the Year along with Bea Alonzo, Angelica Panganiban, Maja Salvador, Jennylyn Mercado and more.

It's already Marian's 2nd consecutive year to get nominated in the said category. During the 2010 August Awards, she got nominated as Face of the Year but lost to Kim Chiu and Kristine Hermosa who tied for the award.

Heart Evangelista meanwhile gets a nod as Most Fashionable Female. Also nominated are Kim Chiu, Rhian Ramos, Georgina Wilson, Isabelle Daza, etc.

Even Heart's boyfriend Daniel Matsunaga is also nominated, but in another category (Bodies of the Year).

The categories Most Fashionable (Male), Bodies of the Year (Male) and Bodies of the Year (Female) are new additions on Us Girls' August Awards for 2011, while two categories in 2010, "Prettiest Teener" and "Make-Up Artist of the Year", have been removed this year.

Who will be Us Girls' Icon of the Year? KC Concepcion and Angel Locsin won the award in 2009 and 2010 respectively. (I have a strong feeling Anne Curtis will get it this 2011.)

Angel Locsin and John Lloyd Cruz in Head and Shoulders TVC

Angel Locsin's new leading man in her newest Head and Shoulders TVC is not Phil Younghusband, but it's her "Imortal" leading man John Lloyd Cruz.

In February, Angel Locsin already announced that someone will join her in a new Head and Shoulders TVC.

"may bagong kapamilya ang Head & Shoulders!☺ abangan!♥" Angel Locsin (@143redangel) posted on Twitter last February 26.

Two names came out as the possible new endorser of Head and Shoulders Anti-Drandruff Shampoo: John Lloyd Cruz, who's paired with Angel in "Imortal", and Phil Younghusband, who was being reported then as Angel's new admirer.

And just last night, it has been officially revealed. It's no other than John Lloyd Cruz, who's making a big shift, from endorsing Clear Anti-Dandruff Shampoo for 2 years, he's now endorsing its rival brand.

If you can still remember, there was an issue before between John Lloyd Cruz and Clear with regard to the Clear TVC in 2009 which supposedly starred John Lloyd with Piolo Pascual and Dingdong Dantes.

John Lloyd reportedly backed out because he was unhappy with the exposure that Clear was supposed to give to him in the new commercial. Jericho Rosales replaced him in the said TVC.

In all fairness to John Lloyd, he accepted Head and Shoulders offer to be its new endorser, more than a year since his contract with Clear expired in Dec. 2009.

The new Head & Shoulders TVC of Lloydie and Gel came out 2 weeks after their show "Imortal" aired its successful finale last April 29.

Philippine Fashion Week Holiday 2011: Bench Fashion Show Models Line-up

Bench Clothing has revealed the line-up of celebrity models who will participate in the Philippine Fashion Week Holiday 2011 scheduled on May 8, 6 PM, at the SMX Convention Center Halls 1 & 2, Seashell Lane, Mall of Asia Complex.

A total of 40 Bench celebrity models will walk the fashion ramp this May 8 and leading the pack of hunks who you love to see modeling for Bench are Diether Ocampo (who is always present whenever there is a Bench fashion show), Dingdong Dantes, Piolo Pascual, Zanjoe Marudo, Gerald Anderson, Coco Martin, Rafael Rosell, Jake Cuenca and many more.

Nice to see Azkals' Fil-European player Mark McMahon being part of the line-up as one of the newest Bench models. You'll love him more after the fashion show.

I'm sure AJ Perez, who was also a Bench model before he died, was supposed to be part of the Bench Fashion Show in the Philippine Fashion Week Holiday 2011. He's one of the newest Bench models introduced this year along with his "Sabel" co-star Joseph Marco who, as you can see, is part of the line-up in the PFW Holiday 2011.

Had it been AJ is still alive, this upcoming Bench show in the PFW will be AJ's first fashion show for Bench.

Tom Rodriguez, Hottest Hunk for March 2011

Tom Rodriguez got the highest number of votes in Mykiru's Hottest Hunks Poll for March 2011.

The former PBB housemate and Marian Rivera's leading man in the upcoming film "Temptation Island" had a wide lead over the 2nd hottest, Zanjoe Marudo.

Tom had 11.49% of the total votes while Zanjoe had exactly 9%.

There were 20 hunks in our March 2011 poll, but only 10 of them have qualified for our annual poll.

Marian Rivera - Dingdong Dantes, and KC Concepcion - Piolo Pascual, who are both real life sweethearts, join forces as endorsers of Real Leaf Green Tea.

A new commercial ad featuring the two showbiz couples have started airing on TV since last weekend, 3 months after they were officially launched as endorsers in December.

Watch the said TVC, where you can see the couples looking so great, happy and with lots of energy:

It's good to see these great-looking couples in just one TVC, especially that they come from different networks.

Both Bench models, this is the 2nd 3rd time for Piolo and Dingdong to appear in one TVC. The first was for Pond's Win a Date TVC while the 2nd one was for Clear shampoo.

Piolo also has already worked with Marian as endorser of Blue Water Day Spa, while it's KC first time to appear in a TVC with Dong-Yan and even Piolo.

I've noticed that 4 of them are all telefantasya while the other one is a musical dramedy.

not their priority.

But those 5 shows look exciting. I'm most excited with Dwarfina, Amaya
and Machete. How about you guys?

Until now, no leading man yet for Marian Rivera in the epic-serye "Amaya". Kapamilya actor Zanjoe Marudo reportedly was offered to be Marian's leading man but I highly doubt if he's gonna switch networks.

15th Asian Television Awards (2010) winners announced

The awarding ceremonies for the 15th Asian Television Awards was held last night, December 9, 2010, at the Pan Pacific Hotel in Singapore.

There were around 200 nominees but only 37 of them were named winners and about 40 were highly commended.

Most of the winners came from Singapore, India, Hong Kong and Korea.

The Philippines had 7 nominations, and unfortunately it won nothing but a "Highly Commended" award for 24 Oras as Best News Program.

GMA 7 owned 6 of the 7 nods, namely Best News Program (24 Oras), Best Current Afairs Program (Reporter's Notebook), Best Natural or Wildlife Program (Planet Philippines), Best Comedy Program (Bubble Gang), Best Comedy Actor (Michael V) and Best Drama Actor (Dingdong Dantes) while ABS-CBN had a single nomination for "Dahil May Isang Ikaw" as Best Drama Series.

Winners for the 24th PMPC Star Awards for TV (2010) announced | Dingdong Dantes, Gerald Anderson win acting honors

The Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) presented its 24th Star Awards for Television last night, November 13, 2010.

The star-studded event was held at the Newport Performing Arts Theater in Resorts World Manila and was hosted by Miriam Quiambao, Angel Aquino & Ruffa Gutierrez.

It was one big night for ABS-CBN who picked up 29 trophies whereas other awards were distributed as follows: GMA - 15, Q11 - 3, UNTV - 3, TV5 - 2, Net25 - 2 & Studio 23 - 1.

Picking up their first ever acting awards were Dingdong Dantes (Best Drama Actor) and Gerald Anderson (Best Single Performance by an Actor).

Dingdong was able to beat previous years' Best Drama Actor winners Coco Martin, Jericho Rosales, John Estrada and Piolo Pascual, and even Sid Lucero (who's nominated in the 2010 International Emmys on Nov. 22).

Gretchen Barretto meanwhile has won Best Single Performance by an Actress for the 2nd consecutive year.

Bimby likes Coco Martin but not Dingdong Dantes

Just like any other normal kids, Baby James Yap aka Bimby also has his likes and dislikes.

Bimby likes Kim Chiu and Coco Martin, whom he got to work with in "Kung Tayo'y Magkakalayo".

But he doesn't like Dingdong Dantes, who campaigned for his Tito Noynoy Aquino during the elections.

Bimby made that revelation at the presscon of her mom Kris and Dingdong for Goldilocks the other day.

But Kris was quick to explain on Twitter last night as to why Bimby doesn't like Dingdong, whom Kris has a movie with under GMA Films in 2011. "I would just like to explain y bimby said I don't like dingdong yesterday at our goldilocks event regardless of my saying but he's Tito Noy's friend. Bimby said because you're my mom. Sa presscon I had made kwento that in original GMA films concept I was married to Dong & pregnant. I was desperate to have a baby so resorted to have black magic & kulam. I became possessive and the other women pinag selosan ko started dropping dead. Bimby heard the pregnant & other baby part, hence the I don't like dingdong comment because he felt magkaka new baby."

She then added, "I maintain that entire Aquino family loves Dong and will always be grateful to him for campaigning tirelessly for PNoy."

Baby James is only 3 years old but wow, he's already a headliner and he's unafraid to tell the world who he likes and who he doesn't like. Keep it up Bimby!

Meanwhile, on SNN last night, Kris shared that she was so relieved and happy when she learned that Bimby was fond of kissing his girl "blonde" classmate. "So, at least alam namin na lalakeng-lalake siya kasi girl 'ung gusto nyang halikan."

Too early to tell, but it's a good sign.

Marian Rivera & Bela Padilla CR Scandal: Dingdong Dantes issues statement defending Marian

If Shaina Magdayao allegedly experienced a vag lock while working out with John Lloyd Cruz according to rumors, Kapuso actress Bela Padilla meanwhile allegedly has also experienced being locked, as in physically being locked in the comfort room (C.R.) by Marian Rivera.

Allegedly, Marian locked herself and her Endless Love co-star Bela inside a C.R. at Fontana Leisure Park in Pampanga, while taping for their show.

Bela's camp claims that Marian accused Bela of making "landi" to her boyfriend Dingdong Dantes and said foul words against Bela while
inside the C.R.

"Ayokong makita ang pagmumukha mo! Ang pangit, pangit mo! Tsaka hindi
ka marunong umarte. Boba!" Marian allegedly said to Bela.

And now the camp of the 19-year-old actress is threatening to sue Marian if she won't issue a public apology.

In defense of Marian, Dingdong has issued an official statement today stating that his girlfriend is being falsely accused. He however admitted
that indeed, something happened between Marian and Bella but he
believes it was already resolved.

Dingdong also would like everyone to know that he will always be
beside Marian.

Here's Dingdong's full statement, released by PPL Entertainment Inc, who manages his career:

"I am saddened by the false accusations and allegations hurled towards Marian which I feel are unfair and were totally blown out of proportion. I am saying this because I know the truth. Whatever
happened in the past happened between two ADULTS, and I believe that this was already resolved. Now, all talks stemming from it are
obviously hurting the satus quo, which we were led to believe, was already smooth sailing.
As someone who believes in Marian's character and loves her dearly,
wholeheartedly, without boundaries, in this life or in the next, I would like the readers/public/spectators to know that I will be behind her, beside her, and even infront of her in fulfilling her dreams and aspirations. Our realtionship is at its strongest point now, more than ever.
From hereon, we will just direct our attention to more important matters that will make more people happy. We will just focus our
energies on the projects that she will be blessed with, which will enrich the industry.
We will continue to treasure and love the family and friends around her who truly matter and know the truth. At the end of the day, there is a reason why Marian is who she is...And the entire country, if not most of it (at the very least) can vouch for that.

And also just today, Marian and Bela have already settled the issue during a closed-door meeting initiated by GMA exec Wilma Galvante.

In a report by 24 Oras tonight, the two Kapuso stars have agreed not to talk about it anymore.

But judging the two's gestures as shown in the video report, you can still feel the tension. There was no handshake nor a "beso".

Yes, Marian and Bela might have come up with an agreement but I don't believe that they have fully patched things up. Not yet, I think!

Ervic Vijandre to reveal a secret of Marian Rivera? | Dingdong Dantes not open to working with Ervic

Basketball player and model Ervic Vijandre is among the 18 castaways on GMA 7's Survivor Philippines Showdown which is about to premiere tonight.

But before we know him now as a Survivor castaway, we already knew him so well as Marian Rivera's boyfriend for 8 years before Dingdong Dantes.

And now that Ervic is entering showbiz for real, he's not spared from facing intrigues and endless issues about ex-love Marian Rivera. But is Marian already his "ex-love" or does he still love her?

Ervic indeed has lots of issues to face. How true that Dingdong was the reason why he and Marian broke up? And how about the rumor that he was trying to win Marian back but the actress dumped him and chose Dingdong?

There's also this rumor that Ervic is going to reveal a secret about Marian. I don't think it's gonna or it should happen. If he's a true gentleman, he won't reveal anything against Marian.

But how about working with Marian and Dingdong in a teleserye or a movie? That's one good idea, but Dingdong is quick to disapprove on this one.

In an article by Mario Bautista published on Journal Online yesterday, it seems Dingdong doesn't like the idea. He also doesn't like Ervic to use Marian in his entry to showbiz. "Honestly, it won't be a good idea. Mas mabuti if he'd make it on his own talent so he won't be accused na he's just banking on a past relationship," he said.

Aside from issues with Marian, Ervic also has to face a malicious rumor that he allegedly caused the breakup of Paolo Bediones and Abby Cruz last year just because of the "cozy" photos of Ervic and Abby in Boracay? (Ervic and Abby were both finalists in the Century Tuna Superbods '09 held in Bora)

It seemed like Showbiz Central host John Lapus was unaware of what's being celebrated during Peñafrancia Festival in Naga City.

John Lapus was in Naga City yesterday, September 19, para sa Kapuso Peñafrancia Fiesta Mall Show ng GMA Regional Network at SM City Naga.

September 19, 2009 was the third Saturday of the month and the feast day of the Nuestra Señora de Peñafrancia.

John was with other Kapuso artists such as Rochelle Pangilinan, Jean Garcia and Dingdong Dantes.

Nagkataon namang nasa Naga ako now for the Peñafrancia fiesta.

Galing ako sa LCC Mall Naga to watch Coco Martin Mall Tour nang mapadaan ako sa SM City Naga to buy some groceries.

Kasalukuyang ginaganap noon ang nasabing Kapuso show sa SM City Naga Event Center at akto namang naabutan ko si John Lapus doing stand-up comedy.

He called one guy from the audience at 'dun na nangyari ang hindi dapat mangyari.

John Lapus was in his "very gay" self when he did some funny stuff for the audience.

Nagkaroon ng role playing na kunyari'y magsyota sila ng nasabing Bicolano guy to the point na malaswa na pala para sa ilan ang pinag-gagawa nila na usually mapapanood mo noon sa may Baywalk o kaya sa mga comedy bar.

Nagharutan, nagyakapan at nagkaroon pa ng s*x simulation at butt-grabbing.

Nag-alay pa ng kanta si John Lapus sa lalake, but he ended the song by kneeling down to the guy with the microphone right infront of the guy's crotch area.

May malaking monitor pa sa may side ng stage kaya kitang-kita ng mga audience ang ginawa nila.

At eto pa ang nakaka-shock especially sa mga devotee ni Ina na nagkataong nanood doon after the fluvial procession earlier that day. Bago pababain ni John Lapus ay nakipag-lips-to-lips pa ito. It was not a smack kiss. The kiss was intense and lasted for about 5 seconds sabay pakita sa monitor ang isang bata, na siguro 2 years old na, at tumatawag ng "Papa!"

The guy that John Lapus kissed was a married man with his wife and super young kid watching in the audience. And John Lapus knew that beforehand.

I could not imagine that SM allowed such thing to happen. I thought SM is also very religious. In fact, they have a mass every Sunday.

Marami na rin akong napanood na mga mall show sa ibang SM malls, pero it was my first na makapanood nang ganun sa SM.

And what was John Lapus thinking to do such acts in a family-friendly mall like SM and in a very religious festival like that of Peñafrancia Festival?

Hindi ba raw siya kinilabutan na ang background pa mandin nila sa stage ay may nakalagay na malaking "Peñafrancia"?

Peñafrancia Festival is considered as the biggest and most popular religious celebration in the Philippines.

It's not wrong to promote fun in a religious festivity but not that kind of fun.

Yes, it was actually so funny and very entertaining, but it was made in a wrong place at a wrong time.

'Stairway to Heaven' fails to beat 'Tayong Dalawa'

The Pinoy version of the Korean soap "Stairway to Heaven" had an average pilot rating last Monday, September 14, 2009, on GMA 7.

According to AGB Nielsen Mega Manila ratings tally, the show garnered 33.5% rating for its premiere, just a little lower than that of ABS-CBN's Tayong Dalawa which was shown on the same timeslot and registered 34.4%, one of the highest ratings of the said Kapamilya show.

"Stairway to Heaven" stars Dingdong Dantes and Rhian Ramos, and compared to the Dingdong's previous shows, it's no match.

Encantadia had 45.9%, Dyesebel garnered 44.9%, Etheria with 38.5% and Marimar with 36.6%.

It's also lower than Rhian's previous shows' ratings such as Captain Barbell (37.5%), Lupin (37.8%), Codename: Asero (40.1%), Zorro (34.8%) and La Lola (34.8%).

However, it's higher than two previous Dingdong Dantes starrers: Ang Babaeng Hinugot Sa Aking Tadyang, 32.9% and Atlantika, 25.5%.

It's expected to rate higher on the coming days, just like what happened to Adik Sa 'Yo.

Adik Sa 'Yo only had 25.4% pilot rating on June 8, 2009 but managed to end with 34.1% last Friday.
