Shalani Soledad thankful for Yahoo! OMG! award

Shalani Soledad emerged as the top winner in the Yahoo! OMG! Philippines Awards 2011 which was held Tuesday night at the Republiq.

The beautiful Shalani Soledad won the award Yahoo! OMG! Celebrity of the Year for 2011 and according to the award description, it's given to most-searched celebrity on Yahoo! Philippines from January to May 2011.

Shalani, who's currently Willie Revillame's co-host on "Wil Time Bigtime", deserves the award as I've seen her many times as one of the Top Celebrity Searches on Yahoo! Philippines (ph.yahoo.com) this year.

On Twitter, Shalani is so much thankful for the award she received from Yahoo! Philippines.

You can check her Twitter profile now and you can see there that Shalani is flooding it with tweets of thanks to everyone who congratulated her for the award.

She was inactive on Twitter for 2 weeks, and it's only yesterday that she logged in there again just to say thanks for the award.

Shalani was also nominated in Yahoo! OMG! Awards 2011 Favorite Female TV Host alongside Toni Gonzaga, Alodia Gosiengfiao and Pia Guanio. Winner in the said category was selected based on popular votes and unfortunately, Shalani got the least number of votes. Toni won the award.

The winners for the 1st Yahoo! OMG! Awards were announced Tuesday night, June 21, 2011, at the Republiq Bar in Resorts World Manila, Pasay City.

The event was supposed to start 7PM, but it started 2 hours later with opening performance from BBS and Kean Cipriano, singing the song "Wala Na Tayo".

Hosts of the evening were JM Rodriguez and Andi Manzano while presenters included Dra. Vicki Belo, Lauren Young, IC Mendoza, Angelu De Leon, Carmi Martin, Gaby dela Merced, Marc Nelson, Rovilson Fernandez, Fabio Ide, Jojo Alejar, Divine Lee, Raymond Gutierrez and Rico Blanco.

Winners in 16 categories were actually those who got the highest number of votes in the online poll conducted at Yahoo! OMG! Philippines site from June 14 to 18 while winners in 2 categories (OMG! Celebrity of the Year won by TV host Shalani Soledad and OMG! Major Impact award given to Binibining Pilipinas-Universe 2011 Shalani Soledad) were chosen based on Yahoo! Philippines! Search trends.

Anne Curtis' followers on Twitter has now reached 1 million, becoming the first from the Philippines to reach the million mark.

Anne Curtis, who is an active Twitter user since March 2009, now has 1,003,302 followers on Twitter as of 2PM today, April 29, and Anne Curtis is ranked 388th worldwide, according to Twittercounter.com.

She is even ranked higher than Victoria Beckham and Leonardo DiCaprio.

Anne is also the only one from the Philippines to enter the Top 500 list of Twitter users with the most followers.

Tom Rodriguez got the highest number of votes in Mykiru's Hottest Hunks Poll for March 2011.

The former PBB housemate and Marian Rivera's leading man in the upcoming film "Temptation Island" had a wide lead over the 2nd hottest, Zanjoe Marudo.

Tom had 11.49% of the total votes while Zanjoe had exactly 9%.

There were 20 hunks in our March 2011 poll, but only 10 of them have qualified for our annual poll.

Who's That Girl? Box-Office Gross: P54.28 million in 3 weeks

Box Office Mojo finally released the box-office figure for Viva Films' "Who's That Girl?" which starred Anne Curtis and Luis Manzano.

The said Wenn Deramas film which opened in theaters last March 2 has earned P54.28 million after 3 weeks or for the period Mar. 2 to 19.

The figure is lower than the P64.28M 3-week gross receipts of Star Cinema's 'Bulong' but it's higher than the P44.26M 3rd week earnings of GMA-Regal co-production 'My Valentine Girls', which were both shown in February.

Last March 23, another Pinoy film ('Catch Me I'm Fallin') has opened in theaters, but no figure yet has been released for its opening week.

After 4 weeks, 'Bulong' now has P67.27 million gross receipts while 'My Valentine Girls' collects P44.26M in 3 weeks

Almost a month since it opened in theaters, Star Cinema's "Bulong" now has a total of P67.27 million, according to figures released by Box
Office Mojo for the week-ending February 27, 2011.

'Bulong' collected only around P3M last week, now added to its 3-week
gross of P64.28.

GMA-Regal co-produced film 'My Valentine Girls' meanwhile earned about P8 million for its 3rd week and now has an accumulated 3-week gross of P44.26M.

Both films are still showing in theaters but definitely won't be earning more than what they earned last week, especially now that a
new Tagalog film has premiered this week.

Viva Films' "Who's That Girl?" which stars Anne Curtis and Luis Manzano, opened last Wednesday, March 2, and is directed by Wenn Deramas, whose last 2 films ("Petrang Kabayo",
"Ang Tanging Ina Mo: Last Na 'To) both reached P100M mark.

Anne Curtis and Luis Manzano are teaming up again in the pre-Valentine 2011 movie "Who's That Girl?" under Viva Films.

It will be Anne and Luis' 3rd movie team up after "All About Love" and
"Ang Cute Ng Ina Mo".

"Who's That Girl?" is a romantic comedy film directed by Wenn Deramas, and also stars Eugene Domingo, John Lapus, Candy Pangilinan, Dennis Padilla, Dino Imperial, Abby Bautista, Maki Billiones and Ms. Dina
Bonnevie.

It excites me why the movie is titled as such. I still don't know what's exactly Anne's role in the movie, but Luis is a football player there, which makes it more exciting.

Now as a theme for a movie, football will definitely be IN this 2011.

"Petrang Kabayo" movie trailer released

After the hit comedy "Hating Kapatid" and the drama film "In Your Eyes", Viva Films shifts back to comedy as "Petrang Kabayo" hits theaters this September.

"Petrang Kabayo" is the launching movie of Vice Ganda after doing support roles in his past 3 movies.

It's a remake of the 1988 film of the same title with Roderick Paulate in the title role.


Hunky men in the film are Tom Rodriguez, who in real life loves horses, and Luis Manzano, who had a wardrobe malfunction while shooting the film. His private part went out of his boxers while filming a shower scene, but of course, we're not gonna see that in the movie. How sad! (Totoy Mola at pang-kabayo pa naman daw!)

Eugene Domingo has a special participation in "Petrang Kabayo" which also stars Sam Pinto, Candy Pangilinan, DJ Durano, John Arcilla, Makisig Morales, Ricky Rivero, Joy Vidao, Eagle Riggs and Ms. Gloria Diaz.

It's directed by Wenn V. Deramas.

'Pilipinas Got Talent' debuts on Valentine's Day 2010

As PBB Double Up stages its Big Night on February 14, which is a Valentine's Day, 'Pilipinas Got Talent' will have its premiere on that same day also on ABS-CBN.

It will be hosted by the exciting tandem of Billy Crawford and Luis Manzano. Two judges have already been announced and they are former ABS-CBN President Freddie M. Garcia and Queen of All Media Kris Aquino.

Yes, Kris is back as judge after she announced that her busy sked won't allow her to accomodate new assignment. But isyuseros didn't easily believe her reason then because she was rumored to make "tampo" when she learned before that a pictorial has been made already for the judges except for her and she thought that someone was being considered other than her.

When 'Pilipinas Got Talent' starts next month, Kris will be regularly seen in 4 Kapamilya shows. Her other shows are SNN, The Buzz and Kung Tayo'y Magkakalayo, which starts on January 18.

The third 'Pilipinas Got Talent' judge, which is obviously a guy, will be revealed on Friday.

Star Magic Ball 2009: John Lloyd had Luis as his escort

Dressed in their formal attires and most elegant gowns, the talents from ABS-CBN's Star Magic gathered for the 3rd Annual Star Magic Ball last night, August 30, at the Makati Shangri-la Hotel.

Even non-Star Magic talents and non-Kapamilya stars were there to show some support to Star Magic, the biggest talent management and training center in the country.

Of course, people are very much interested to know who's with who during the ball.

Did Sam Milby attend the party with a new girl?

Definitely not this time. For the third year, Sam Milby escorted Anne Curtis to the ball to the delight of their fans. So, definitely, they're "back in each other's arms" (at least for a night).

Star Cinema people said they have already shot the highly anticipated kissing scene of John Lloyd Cruz and Luis Manzano in their upcoming movie "In My Life".

The kissing scene was shot at the famous Brooklyn Bridge in New York.

For now, they could not provide a kissing photo of John Lloyd and Luis 'coz that's something we should watch out for when the movie hits theaters this September.
