Happy Yipee Yehey scores a not so happy rating of 3% while Mara Clara hits ratings high on Tuesday, February 22

Happy Yipee Yehey, The Price Is Right and Green Rose, which all premiered last week on ABS-CBN, are finding it hard to break in to the Top 10 Ratings Ranking in Mega Manila.

Last Tuesday, both Happy Yipee Yehey and Green Rose got their lowest ratings so far since their premiere.

Happy Yipee Yehey had a low 3% while 'Green Rose' got 6.6%, based on AGB's People Ratings in Mega Manila.

Even on Kantar Media Nationwide Ratings, those two shows are nowhere in the Top 10.

'The Price Is Right' meanwhile isn't doing well in Mega Manila, but it's picking up nationwide. Yesterday, for the first time, the show ranked 7th.

But if there's one thing that ABS-CBN has to be happy about is its primetime supremacy.

Three of its TV series are again in the Top 3 last Tuesday, with 'Mara Clara' still #1. It scored a 16.6% rating, its highest rating ever in Mega Manila.

February 21 Ratings: GMA still rules daytime as ABS-CBN owns primetime

TV Ratings are out for yesterday, February 21, 2011, with five GMA 7 daytime shows too strong against its rival shows.

And yesterday, 3 Kapamilya primetime TV series all ranked in the Top 3.

As I've noticed in the ratings trend, most viewers will watch "Mutya", "Mara Clara" and "Imortal" on ABS-CBN and then will switch to GMA to watch "Baker King".

GMA 7 thanks viewers for being no. 1 nationwide

If you're watching on GMA 7, probably you've seen already the message flashing at the bottom of your TV screens, a message of thanks to the Kapuso viewers.
It says, "Salamat, mga Kapuso! dahil ang GMA, No. 1 NATIONWIDE!"

They're referring to the figures released by AGB Neilsen Media Research which shows GMA having the highest audience share for the period January 1 to February 13, 2011, not just only in Mega Manila and Urban Luzon, but also Nationwide.

AUDIENCE SHARE (MEGA MANILA)
GMA 37.7
ABS-CBN 25.2
TV5 17.7

AUDIENCE SHARE (URBAN LUZON)
GMA 36.5
ABS-CBN 26.7
TV5 16.9

AUDIENCE SHARE (NATIONAL)
GMA 33.2
ABS-CBN 31.8
TV5 14.9

Finally, GMA has acknowledged the nationwide ratings or the National Urban Television Audience Measurement (NUTAM) which was not the case during the time ABS-CBN had the wide lead in the national ratings race.

'Green Rose', 'The Price Is Right' & 'Happy Yipee Yehey!' pilot episodes fail to shake up ratings in Mega Manila

'Green Rose' and 'The Price is Right' were the two ABS-CBN shows which aired its pilot episodes last night, but both failed to impress in Mega Manila ratings.

'Green Rose', which is a Philippine remake of a Koreanovela and stars Jericho Rosales and Anne Curtis, scored a pilot rating of 7.1% while 'The Price Is Right', hosted by Kris Aquino, marked 4.5% debut rating, according to the figures released by AGB Nielsen via Pep.ph.

Both pilot ratings unfortunately failed to beat competitions and didn't even rank in the Top 10 Highest-Rated Primetime Programs last night.

Meanwhile, GMA's "Nita Negrita" with Barbie Forteza in the title role also premiered on the afternoon the same day with a high 7.8% rating, ranking 4th in the Top 10 Daytime Programs.

Willie Revillame, who hosts "Willing Willie" on TV5, is probably the happiest to hear that the ABS-CBN's new noontime show "Happy Yipee Yehey" didn't score high ratings on its first Saturday and Monday episodes.

Willie reportedly predicted that the show, which is hosted by his friends John Estrada and Randy Santiago, will have low ratings.

Last Saturday, Happy Yipee Yehey had a debut ratings of 5.1% as against Eat Bulaga's 12%. But it's already the 4th highest rating among daytime programs.

And for its first Monday episode, the new show had a terrible 3.8% rating which didn't even place in the Top 10. It ranked 11th.

But Willie shouldn't be rejoicing if the said ABS-CBN show didn't soar high in the ratings 'coz his own show isn't doing well lately during weekdays.

Last Friday, it ranked at the bottom, at #14. Then just last Monday, it's again out of the Top 10, ranking 12th, which was not the case during its first few weeks of airing.TOP 10 HIGHEST-RATED PROGRAMS

"Mara Clara" dominates primetime TV ratings for January 31 and February 1, 2011

ABS-CBN's "Mara Clara" has been winning the ratings battle for two nights now, based on the latest People Ratings survey released by AGB Nielsen Media Research in Mega Manila.

Last Monday (January 31, 2011), "Mara Clara" got 14.2% to top all primetime programs and it happened again the next day, February 1, it scored 14.8% rating, also #1 for that day.

Those ratings are the soap's highest ratings so far in Mega Manila and are much higher than its pilot rating of 11.6% in October 25.

If you're following the soap, you for sure know the reason why it's drawing bigger rating numbers than usual. It's because of the explosive revelation in the soap: The Del Valle(s) have already discovered that Mara is their real daughter and not Clara.

Meanwhile, ABS-CBN's new show "Mutya" premiered last Monday with a pilot rating of 11.9% good enough to land on 3rd spot over-all and was able to drown rival shows on GMA, the previous #1 "Dwarfina" and the 1-week-old "Machete" which ranked 4th and 5th respectively.

However, 2nd-day rating of Mutya slipped and it ranked 7th, a big drop from its pilot night ranking.

"Noah", which wasn't rating well the previous week, is back in the Top 10, atleast in 10th place both in Monday and Tuesday.

January 31 Primetime (AGB Mega Manila - People Ratings)
1. Mara Clara 14.2%
2. 24 Oras 12.0%
3. Mutya 11.9% (pilot)

TV Ratings January 25-26, 2011 (AGB Nielsen): "Dwarfina" still strong, "Machete" gets weaker

GMA 7's "Temptation of Wife" and "Dwarfina" are still leading on daytime and primetime respectively based on the latest Mega Manila ratings released by AGB Nielsen.

"Temptation of Wife" scored a rating of 12% last Tuesday (January 25) and 12.3% the next day (January 26) topping all daytime programs.

"Dwarfina" on one hand remains unbeatable, consistenty leading all primetime shows with 14.9% and 12.9% ratings the past two days.

Its rival show "Noah" on ABS-CBN is sufferring from it. For 4 nights now, the program has failed to atleast enter the Top 10, an unusual thing for a primetime show targeting kids and shown on an earlier timeslot.

GMA's "Machete" premiered strong last Monday (January 24), ranking 2nd over-all, but it went weaker the next days. It ranked 3rd on Tuesday and down to 5th on Wednesday.

On tonight's episode, Machete (the sculpture) will finally come to life and we'll see if the show gets stronger in the ratings after that.

"Machete" hits high pilot ratings in Mega Manila

"Machete" had a successful pilot episode on GMA 7 last Monday, January
24, 2011, when it scored the second highest primetime ratings in Mega
Manila for that day.

Based on the numbers released by AGB Nielsen, "Machete" which stars Aljur Abrenica in the title role premiered with 12.8% beating ABS-CBN's Mara Clara which had 11% rating.

The pilot rating ranked 2nd over-all just behind "Dwarfina".

ABS-CBN still has "Imortal" as its strongest show, winning its timeslot and ranking 3rd over-all last Monday.

But the Kapamilya Network scored a very low rating for "Noah" whose rating didn't even land on the Top 10.

It's good though that they're gonna axe the program already in
February. Finally! (after almost 7 months)

That probably explains why ABS-CBN is already introducing a new TV series this Monday, January 31, (earlier than planned) hoping to duplicate the success of "Agua Bendita" which ruled primetime in 2010.

"Dwarfina" pilot episode scores BIG ratings in Mega Manila

January 10, 2011 ratings in Mega Manila are out!

GMA 7 has won really big ratings last night as 6 of its shows are among the Top 10 highest-rating primetime programs, according to the figures released by AGB Nielsen via PEP Scoopbox.

And 5 of the 6 Kapuso shows are all in the top 5.

The network must be thankful most especially for its new show "Dwarfina" whose pilot episode last night scored a high 15.4% rating, beating all competitions.

"Dwarfina" is topbilled by Heart Evangelista and Dennis Trillo.

Here's the ratings ranking for January 10, 2011: (primetime only)

1. Dwarfina (GMA) 15.4% - pilot

November 8 Ratings: Willing Willie beats TV Patrol

AGB Mega Manila People Ratings for yesterday are out and people are excited to know which between ABS-CBN's TV Patrol and TV5's Willing Willie got higher rating over the other.

Willie Revillame, who hosts Willing Willie, probably is bragging now about the high rating of his show yesterday.

It had a rating of 11.6%, tied with GMA 7's 24 Oras and rated higher than TV Patrol which welcomed back Kabayan Noli de Castro and Korina Sanchez as its anchors.

Shalani Soledad, who made her hosting debut on Willing Willie last night, indeed helped the show to beat the competition.

But despite TV Patrol losing to Willing Willie for the first time, ABS-CBN now holds WEEKNIGHTS supremacy in Mega Manila for having the #1 primetime program for almost 2 weeks already (starting in October 27).

GMA 7 meanwhile is still the consistent leader on WEEKDAYS (Daytime Mondays thru Fridays) and also during SATURDAYS.

Pilot Ratings: Mara Clara, Willing-Willie, Down With Love, Little Star & Juanita Banana | Which program made an impressive debut?

Of the 5 new shows which aired their respective pilot episode last Monday (October 25), it was ABS-CBN's "Down With Love" which drew the most impressive ratings both in AGB Mega Manila and Kantar Media Nationwide ratings survey.

"Down With Love", the Taiwanese drama dubbed into Tagalog and stars Jerry Yan and Ella Chen, garnered 6.2% rating in Mega Manila for its first episode, 5:30pm last Monday, to rank as the 3rd highest daytime rating for the day.

And for its nationwide rating, it scored a 16% pilot rating to become the #1 top-rating daytime program.

GMA 7's Little Star and ABS-CBN's Juanita Banana also premiered early afternoon on Monday, but both garnered not so impressive ratings.

Meanwhile, on primetime, the 2010 remake of the 90's hit soap opera Mara Clara also had a successful pilot on Primetime Bida last Monday. It placed 2nd in Mega Manila and 3rd nationwide, ranking higher than its rival program.

TV5 and Willie Revillame on the other hand successfully stirred buzz for the controversial premiere of Willing Willie last Saturday (Oct. 23). It even topped on Twitter's Top Trending Topics but unfortunately, it failed to top the ratings chart as what they expected. It only ranked 7th in Mega Manila and 10th nationwide.

Much worse, it's first episode on a weekday primetime last October 25 failed to enter the Top 10. Better luck next time!

"Imortal" pilot episode does so well in the ratings

ABS-CBN's "Imortal" had a very successful pilot last night, beating rival show in the ratings game.

Based on Kantar Media (TNS) Nationwide Ratings, Imortal registered a 34.4% rating as against 22.7% by GMA 7's Grazilda, to become the #2 Primetime Program for that day just next to Noah, also from ABS-CBN, which had 34.5%

Even on AGB Nielsen's People Ratings in Mega Manila, Imortal was also a rating winner. It had a rating of 15.1% versus Grazilda's 11.2% and was the night's #1 program.

And compared to the pilot ratings of the existing primetime TV series, the said ratings by Imortal are among the highest, 2nd Nationwide and 4th in Mega Manila.

TV Ratings: Did iDOL's pilot episode hit the high notes?

The pilot episode of ABS-CBN's musical serye "iDOL" last Monday, September 6, was able to hit the high notes when it comes to the TV ratings.

iDOL got a rating of 30% nationwide and 13% in Mega Manila, good enough to rank 3rd and 4th respectively.

But the said ratings, though among the Top 4 highest on primetime, were actually not that impressive because they were lower than the usual ratings of "Agua Bendita", which occupied the same timeslot before and ended on top just last Friday.

ABS-CBN's Miss Universe 2010 telecast wins ratings both in Mega Manila and Nationwide

The telecast of the Miss Universe 2010 pageant on ABS-CBN last Tuesday ruled both in AGB People Ratings (Mega Manila) and Kantar Media Ratings (Nationwide).

The 2010 Miss Universe Pageant shown in the Kapamilya Network was the most watched daytime program last Tuesday as the Filipinos were hoping for Miss Philippines Venus Raj to win the crown but she finished as 4th Runner Up.

And I think, for 4 years that ABS-CBN has been airing the Miss Universe Coronation, it's the first time that the network's telecast of the pageant placed #1 in Mega Manila.

New timeslot for Showtime and Pilipinas Win Na Win

Starting on Monday, August 16, the morning program Showtime will now be seen on noontime starting at 11:45 AM.

That is to give way for the Kapamilya Blockbusters which will occupy the 10:00 AM slot, everyday from Monday to Friday, so as to give GMA 7's Kapuso Movie Festival a real competition.

Kapamilya Blockbusters on weekdays will start with "You Changed My Life" as its initial offering. The John Lloyd Cruz-Sarah Geronimo starring movie is the Philippines' all-time box office hit. Will it also break records on TV?

So what happened to Pilipinas Win Na Win? It has been shortened and will now start at 1:30. That's actually good because PWNW doesn't eat much time unlike the Willie Revillame-hosted Wowowee which most of the time exceeded the allotted time for the show and had heavy commercial load.

With that, Eat Bulaga on GMA will now have two direct competitors on noontime.

So why did ABS-CBN decide to give "Showtime" and "Pilipinas Win Na Win" new timeslots and treat viewers with Pinoy movies everyday?

The ratings chart says it all:

"Noah" scores high pilot rating | Maricel Soriano helps improve ratings of "Pilyang Kerubin"

ABS-CBN's "Noah" scored a high pilot rating nationwide last Monday, July 12, 2010.

"Noah" generated a rating of 39.9% based on Kantar Media nationwide figures. It was ranked #1 for that day.

"Agua Bendita", which is now shown on a later timeslot right after
Noah, dropped to #2 with 34.6%.

It's a challenge for Noah to sustain high ratings and even achieve higher than its pilot rating, especially that Agua Bendita usually had
40plus ratings on that timeslot.

Another ABS-CBN program "Midnight Phantom" made its debut that day and
it was also a success with 12.9%, 2nd highest among daytime shows.

The same thing happened in AGB People Ratings (Mega Manila). Both Noah
and Midnight Phantom beat their rival programs. However, the 2nd day
was a different story.

With Maricel Soriano as special guest, ratings of GMA 7's "Pilyang
Kerubin" have improved. It ranked 3rd last Monday and was #2 the next
day behind 24 Oras.

Or, did ABS-CBN make the wrong move of putting Noah ahead of Agua Bendita?

GMA slowly owning Nationwide Daytime TV Ratings

ABS-CBN must be alarmed now that GMA is slowly dominating the daytime block nationwide.

Based on the latest national ratings survey by Kantar Media (formerly TNS) last July 7, 2010, GMA shows like One Piece, Trudis Liit, Basahang Ginto and the newly-aired Hole in the Wall have swallowed the
competition.

And even Eat Bulaga!, which usually doesn't score ahead of Wowowee nationwide, has garnered higher ratings than its rival show last Wednesday.

But when it comes to primetime, ABS-CBN is still the clear leader with 4 shows on top of the rest.

KANTAR NATIONAL DAYTIME RATINGS (TOP 10):
1. Showtime (ABS-CBN) 14.6%
2. Eat Bulaga! (GMA) 14.3%

Kantar & AGB People Ratings: GMA's "Basahang Ginto" wins high ratings

The Philippine TV Ratings battle gets more exciting as both Kantar Media (formerly TNS) Nationwide Ratings and AGB Nielsen People Ratings in Mega Manila are quite similar now.

Not with the numbers of course, but as to which programs are winning in their respective timeslots both in nationwide and Mega Manila.

Ratings results last July 5 and 6, 2010 show that six programs are winners in both Kantar Nationwide and AGB Mega Manila.

3 of them are from ABS-CBN and they are Showtime, Agua Bendita and Magkaribal, while the other 3 are GMA shows: Basahang Ginto, Wipeout and Hole in the Wall.

Those 6 shows were able to beat their rival programs in their
timeslot, may it be in Mega Manila or Nationwide.

GMA's Basahang Ginto, which stars Carla Abellana and Geoff Eigenmann, is showing signs of owning the daytime block. It
even topped the ranking for the daytime ratings last Monday.

Hole in the Wall, also from GMA 7, had a successful pilot last Monday and it continued until Tuesday.

ABS-CBN meanwhile boasts of having unbeatable programs like Showtime and Agua Bendita.

'Wowowee' ratings have declined after Willie went on leave from the show

Wowowee's May 4 episode, the time when Willie Revillame had a dramatic
monologue, topped both in AGB Mega Manila and TNS National TV Ratings.

But after Willie went on leave from the show, it never topped again.
Take a look:

AGB NIELSEN MEGA MANILA RATINGS:
May 1 16.2% (ranks 3rd)
May 3 14.6% (3rd)
May 4 18.1% (1st) - WILLIE'S OUTBURST EPISODE
May 5 14.9% (3rd)
May 6 13.3% (3rd)
May 7 14.7% (4th)
May 8 14.7% (3rd)

TNS NAT'L RATINGS:
May 1 19.1% (1st)
May 3 20.1% (1st)
May 4 19.9% (1st) - WILLIE'S OUTBURST EPISODE
May 5 17.7% (2nd)
May 6 16.2% (2nd)
May 7 18.2% (2nd)
May 8 17.3% (2nd)

Willie was quoted saying in an interview lately that the ratings of
the show have declined since he left. Oh well, he may be right but
it's co-incidental.

Wowowee has been inconsistent in the AGB ratings and in a see-saw
battle with Showtime and Eat Bulaga. As you can see in its AGB
ranking, it has already been ranking 3rd even before that May 4
episode.

Wowowee's ranking may have dropped to 2nd in TNS, but on top of it is
'Showtime'. That means, ABS-CBN has other good shows to boast, not
just only Wowowee.

The ratings of the show is a collective effort of the show, and not by
Willie. Thus, ABS-CBN should not consider those ratings figure if
they're still planning to bring back Willie. Or else, it will just
make Willie more arrogant. He must be taught another lesson and no
more 10th chance for him.
