Marian Rivera, Julia Montes, Jennylyn Mercado currently leading "Faces of the Year" Poll

Kapuso's Primetime Queen Marian Rivera is currently on top of US Girls' August Awards 2011 Poll for Faces of the Year.

As of 12 noon today, August 6, 2011, Marian has 1,167 votes or 43%, followed by another Kapuso star Jennylyn Mercado with 821 votes or 30%.

Meanwhile, teen star Julia Montes leads the Kapamilya nominees with 332 votes (12%).

During the 1st Us Girls August Awards in 2009, 3 winners were picked as Faces of the Year (Kim Chiu, Isabelle Daza and Tweety De Leon) while only 2 winners were named for the same category last year (Kim Chiu and Kristine Hermosa).

The voting for Faces of the Year and for the other categories are all being done on Us Girls' Facebook Page.

For the Most Fashionable Female category, Kim Chiu is so far the most popular choice with 62% while Dingdong Dantes is the leading choice as Most Fashionable Male having 39% of the votes, but Gerald Anderson is coming close with 31%.

Angel Locsin drops to 3rd spot in the latest FHM 100 Sexiest 2011 voting update

Angel Locsin is currently ranked 3rd in the latest voting update for the FHM Philippines' 100 Sexiest Women 2011 Poll.

As of Friday, May 6, Angel Locsin is ranked behind Marian Rivera and Cristine Reyes.

It's already the 3rd update of FHM Philippines for its 100 Sexiest Women 2011 voting and it seems like Angel Locsin is going one spot down everytime there is a new update.

She was on top during the first update (April 19) and went down to #2 in the second update (April 29).

Angel, Cristine and Marian are actually switching places in the Top 3 slots. Don't be surprised if Cristine gets the top spot by next week.

The current Top 20-29 babes have also been revealed and included there are Kim Chiu, Erich Gonzales, Lovi Poe, who's now #26 from #54 last week, and last year's Top 10 Iwa Moto, Angelica Panganiban and Ehra Madrigal.

Philippine Fashion Week Holiday 2011: Bench Fashion Show Models Line-up

Bench Clothing has revealed the line-up of celebrity models who will participate in the Philippine Fashion Week Holiday 2011 scheduled on May 8, 6 PM, at the SMX Convention Center Halls 1 & 2, Seashell Lane, Mall of Asia Complex.

I'm sure AJ Perez, who was also a Bench model before he died, was supposed to be part of the Bench Fashion Show in the Philippine Fashion Week Holiday 2011. He's one of the newest Bench models introduced this year along with his "Sabel" co-star Joseph Marco who, as you can see, is part of the line-up in the PFW Holiday 2011.

Had it been AJ is still alive, this upcoming Bench show in the PFW will be AJ's first fashion show for Bench.

Anne Curtis, who is an active Twitter user since March 2009, now has 1,003,302 followers on Twitter as of 2PM today, April 29, and Anne Curtis is ranked 388th worldwide, according to Twittercounter.com.

She is even ranked higher than Victoria Beckham and Leonardo DiCaprio.

Angelica Panganiban, Best Actress (Comedy/Musical) at Enpress Awards 2011

Angelica Panganiban has won Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role for Musical or Comedy in the 8th ENPRESS Golden Screen Awards for Movies held last night, April 2, 2011, at the Teatrino Promenade Greenhills.

Angelica won for her outstanding portrayal as the virginal bride turned screaming "gay" in the 2010 box-office hit "Here Comes The Bride".

She deserves the award. When I saw the movie, I already predicted she'll win honors for that Chris Martinez film.

Angelica was able to beat nominees such as Ai Ai de las Alas (Ang Tanging Ina, Last Na ‘To), Toni Gonzaga (My Amnesia Girl) and her co-stars in the movie Eugene Domingo and Tuesday Vargas.

Also winning for Here Comes The Bride is John Lapus as Best Actor in a Leading Role for Comedy or Musical.

It was the first time for both Angelica and John to win an ENPRESS award.

At 24, Angelica is actually the youngest to win in that category.

The Golden Screen Awards is being handed out by the Entertainment Press Society, Inc. (ENPRESS).

Azkals team manager Dan Palami issues statement on controversies surrounding the Azkals

Dan Stephen Palami, the team manager of the Azkals, has issued a statement over the Azkals controversies.

That's in relation to the issues being thrown against the team, particularly its extremely popular player Phil Younghusband, who recently had an issue with Angelica Panganiban.

Last week, Angelica commented on Twitter that she's against Phil entering showbiz.

She also took notice of the Azkals getting lots of donations and alleged that they're now big-headed people.

Angelica also hit the Azkals on talking too much about their showbiz crushes. (Azkals player Chieffy Caligdong named Angelica as his showbiz crush and even challenged Angelica's boyfriend Derek Ramsay for a one-on-one football game.)

Some other people also are unhappy with the Azkals getting too much media attention, and one of them is TV host / radio dj Mo Twister, who even advised the media to focus on other national athletes who have achieved more than the Azkals.

Now, Dan Palami faces the controversies. He issued an statement on his Facebook early this week before the Azkals left for their training in Japan.

According to Palami, the Azkals deserve all the admiration, the endorsement offers and the opportunities that come their way after all what they've gone through to be where they are now.

He also assures the fans that his players aren't distracted by the controversies and will play their best on March 15 for the 2nd leg of their AFC 2012 Challenge Cup pre-qualifying game against Mongolia.

Read his statement, which aims to bring closure to the issues:

"Following the recent PSA awards, the Azkals start their Japan training this week still in high spirits. It was amazing to be recognized by great achievers in sports, and we thank Manny Pacquiao and all our other fellow awardees for their encouragement.

While most sectors have welcomed the Philippine's football renaissance, some concerns about the potential distraction of fame and celebrity for players have resulted in unfortunate controversies. I would prefer to keep silent on matters off the pitch, but some issues persist and these unwarranted doubts can’t be healthy for the team. As manager, therefore, I would like to categorically assure everyone that the coaches and I are taking all steps necessary to ensure that the Azkals always give their best. We are the first to call out any Azkal whose game is threatened by ‘distractions’ in any form.

With so many new aspirants for the national team, the competition for spots has become more intense, and I can tell you that the Azkals are working harder than ever. Every Azkal who has made it this far has earned his spot through hard work, talent, and ability to work well with the team. As long as each one fulfills his professional responsibilities, I wouldn't interfere in a player's personal life or bar him from undertaking projects in other fields.

The Azkals have endured so much to get to where they are now. All this time when they played for the Philippines, the Azkals would lose income because of time spent away from better-paying jobs. Compared to football players in other countries, our Azkals receive a mere pittance, and yet they play on. If admiration, endorsements and other opportunities are now coming their way, I hope none of us will begrudge them a little taste of their well-deserved victory. If they are able to build up football and other Azkals through exposure to other fields, I wouldn't withhold that from them either.

We respect everyone's opinion and accept that in some matters, there will be conflicting views. Still, we hope that any differences in perspective foster only healthy debate, and not degrade any individual or any other sport. As we prepare for our match in Mongolia, we hope to bring closure to polarizing disagreements and bring focus to what every sport is really all about: bridging differences and bringing people together.

Phil Younghusband reacts on Angelica Panganiban's Twitter remarks

Phil Younghusband has reacted on Angelica Panganiban's Twitter remarks against him posted Thursday afternoon.

Reacting on the news that Phil Younghusband has an indie film coming up, Angelica advised Phil to just concentrate on football.

She even suggested that Phil should just join Pinoy Big Brother if he wants to be in showbiz.

On Bandila's newscast last night, Phil aired his side on the issue. “I don’t think Angelica probably realized it," Phil tells Bandila. "The indie film was not me acting. It’s not about me getting into acting or being an artista. It’s about football. It’s about promoting football. Maybe she just misunderstood it."

Phil has been very vocal before that football is still his utmost priority.

Angelica making remarks against Phil caused her to have a heated argument with an Azkals fan on Twitter, and she's now planning to sue that Twitter user because of "below-the-belt" comments thrown against her.

Is Angelica Panganiban just envious of the Philippine football team (Azkals), who's now getting full support from the government and the Filipino people, unlike in frisbee, where her boyfriend Derek Ramsay is a player?

Because when interviewed last night on TV Patrol with regards to the issue, Angelica did mention about Derek funding the Philippine Frisbee team while the Philipine football team is getting lots of donations.

Angelica Panganiban gets into Twitter war because of Phil Younghusband

Angelica Panganiban drew mixed reactions when she said on Twitter that Azkals' Phil Younghusband should concentrate on playing football and not entering showbiz.

Earlier this afternoon, Angelica Panganiban reacted on the news that Phil Younghusband is starring in an indie film.

Angelica tweeted, "si phil may indie film... Akala ko ba football player sya??? :( lahat na lang artista na :( sad..."

And then she further explained, "masama. Sana lang mag focus muna silang lahat sa football. Para sa pinas kasi yun. #justsayin' after na lang ng tourny mag artista."

She got mixed reactions from other Twitter users, either Azkals fans or not. Some agreed, but others didn't like what she said, including a fan named Baby Morales (@anilmorales).

And to those who disagreed, here's what Angelica said to them, "Ang kitid ng utak ng iba. D ko sinasabing ang gusto ko eh ako lang ang artista. Kung gusto pala nya mag artista, sana d na sya nag football."

Angelica then went on to say that Phil should have joined Pinoy Big Brother and not the Azkals team. "Sana sa pbb sya sumali :) d sa azkals. Baka mapuyat sya sa shooting d sya makalaro ng maayos. Gets nyo ba ko? O buong araw natin to issue?"

Twitter user @Clemea asked Angelica, "..ayaw mo po (siyang mag-artista)??"

She answered, "Ok lang naman. Sana lang wag pabayaan ang paglaro :) para d mapahiya :) like pacman."

According to Angelica, she's worried that Phil might enjoy acting more than football, "Magaling mag football si phil. Stick to that muna :) kakasimula pa lang natin sa football. Baka mas magenjoy sya sa acting. Sayang."

"Ayan. Ok na ha? Concerned citizen lang po ako. Theres no need to promote FB (football) everynight na sila nasa news. Magandang promotion na yun. "

But Angelica later on got into a heated exchange of tweets with @anilmorales who brought up Angelica's boyfriend Derek Ramsay into the issue.

Angel replied to that and said, "@anilmorales Ay napakadami! ikaw may nauwi ka na? Na magiging proud kaming pinoy? Dinamay ko bf mo dito? Kayo ba ni phil? Jowa ka? Ganda mo niii!!"

And it simply didn't end up there. They continued to argue and throw harsh words against each other.

USTv Awards 2011 winners: Coco Martin, Best Actor | Angelica Panganiban, Best Actress

The 7th USTv Students' Choice Awards Night has just been held earlier at the UST's Plaza Mayor. The 2011 USTv Awards was dubbed as the Quadricentennial edition in celebration of the university's 400th anniversary.

ABS-CBN (including its affiliates) was the big winner winning a total of 15 trophies including the Best Actor award for Coco Martin and Best Actress for Angelica Panganiban.

Coco was there while Angelica unfortunately wasn't around to receive the award.

On Twitter, Angelica revealed that she just came from Bali, Indonesia. "Grabe naman!! Salamat USTv awards!! Kakarating ko lang from Bali. Nanalo na pala ko."

The hit 2010 teleserye "Agua Bendita" won as Students' Choice for Local Soap Opera and its lead star Andi Eigenmann was the one who accepted the award.

GMA 7 on one hand received 7 honors while TV5 had 1.

Why is the Angelica Panganiban alleged scandal picture in 2010 being revived this year?

Even Angelica Panganiban herself is wondering why.

On The Buzz last Sunday, Angelica Panganiban admitted that she's already aware of the scandal picture long ago but just recently, it's haunting her again when it was circulating and being sent to Star Magic head Johnny Manahan, to her handler and even to friends of her bf Derek Ramsay.

The scandal picture shows a woman who looks like Angelica Panganiban, fixing her bra and with breasts exposed.

I already blogged about the scandalous photo in June 2010 during the time Angelica and Derek were vacationing in South Africa.

Eight months after, Angelica is facing the issue, denying that she's the woman in the picture. "Hindi ako 'yun. Ang ganda kaya ng body ko. At tsaka baligtad sya mag-bra. Flexible kaya ako mag-bra, helloow!" Angelica said during a live interview on The Buzz.

Angelica is already suspecting someone she knows as the one responsible for spreading the scandal photo.

Star Cinema has released the official poster and publicity photos for
its opening salvo this 2011, the movie "Bulong" starring Vhong Navarro and Angelica Panganiban.

The poster for "Bulong", as shown above, was unveiled late last night while the publicity photos (below) were released online earlier
tonight as the movie presscon was ongoing at the Dolphy Theater.

Angelica even told her Twitter followers to watch for her photos. "Taray ng bago kong pictures :) tumutok lang
kayo :)".

And Angelica is right. She's so "tarush" in her pics.

Angelica Panganiban and Derek Ramsay engaged to marry this 2011?

Angelica Panganiban is rumored to be engaged already to boyfriend Derek Ramsay.

On New Year's Day, "The Buzz" and "SNN" writer Darla Sauler posted a
close-up photo of a guy's hand holding a girl's hand wearing an
engagement ring.

She didn't reveal the couple's names but only clues were given: a
primetime teleserye actress and a hunk actor.

As the names of Angelica and Derek appear on everyone's "guesses", the actress was quick to react and deny the engagement rumor. On Twitter, she said, "Kelan pa ko naging engaged? Nakakawa to!
@darlasauler d to totoo. Chismis kaagad sa new yr? Pangit!!"

Just this afternoon, PEP posted on its Scoopbox some of showbiz predictions by Madam Suzette Arandela for 2011 and mentioned there is
a civil wedding of Angelica and Derek Ramsay.

Why civil wedding? Does it mean Angelica and Derek will have a secret wedding?

The two are currently in Palawan, where they spent Christmas and New Year along with Derek's family and some of their friends.

Angelica herself posted on Twitter a photo of them from Palawan, where
Derek is shirtless and Angel is wearing a 2-piece bikini, just like in their controversial photo before (except that there's no "dukot" this
time):

By tomorrow, January 3, the couple are back in Manila and Angelica
will have to face the issue about being engaged to Derek as she promotes her new movie "Bulong" with Vhong Navarro and Bangs Garcia.

As Star Cinema's opening salvo this 2011, "Bulong" is a horror-comedy film directed by Chito Roño and will open in theaters on January 26.

Angelica Panganiban, Marian Rivera topbill "Temptation Island" 2011 remake

Angelica Panganiban and Marian Rivera will topbill the 2011 remake of "Temptation Island", a hit movie during the 80's directed by Joey Gosiengfiao under Regal Films.

It's a lot exciting that these two actresses, who are both known as "palaban", will be working together in one movie.

Both are also regarded as a "queen" in their respective network. Marian is Kapuso Primetime Queen, while Angelica is one of the two Queens of Star Magic, along with Bea Alonzo, a title vacated by Claudine Barretto.

Angelica will be replacing Andi Eigenmann, who was the very first to be reported as cast member of Temptation Island 2011. It's still unknown why Andi, a contract star of Regal, has been removed from the cast.

Joining Angelica and Marian in the film are Carla Abellana, Lovi Poe and Pokwang plus Zanjoe Marudo, Jake Cuenca and three more leading men. Also starring are John Lapus, Tim Yap, Tessa Prieto-Valdes and more.

But the question is: Who between Angelica and Marian will get a top billing over the other?

"Billing" is very important because it shows the star status of an actor or an actress. And even if both actresses will have stellar billing in the movie, it's going to be an issue as to whose name will appear after the word "and" in the poster and whose name gonna appear first as the "cast of characters" rolls at the end part of the movie.

How true that Angelica accepted the movie offer in a condition that she will get top billing over Marian?

And also, how true that Marian is now hesitating to do the movie because she doesn't like being just second on the billing?

I think both are not true.

I believe that Angelica grabbed Regal's offer because it will be directed by Chris Martinez, her director in "Here Comes The Bride", the 2nd top-grossing film so far this 2010.

It's also her wish to work with Marian. In fact, on Twitter, she had this post last September 1 and it clearly says that she admires Marian a lot and she wished for a movie with her:

As for Marian, a contract star of Regal, she can actually demand to be on top of the billing but I don't think she will have issue on that.

At the MMFF 2010 presscon held last week, she happily announced that she'll be doing Temptation Island and for sure, she already knew by then that Angelica will be joining her in the film.

It's actually too early to dwell on this issue and I hope it's not really gonna be an issue because it's a lot exciting that they're gonna be starring in one movie, something that will only happen in a Regal-produced movie.

Who's yummier: Angelica Panganiban or Solenn Heussaff?

Actor Derek Ramsay faced one tough question during his press con for Belo Men held recently when he was asked who's more yummy, is it his
current girlfriend Angelica Panganiban or his ex-gf Solenn Heussaff?

And he answered Angelica, which was kinda expected because she's the
current one. Derek said that he chose Angelica as the yummier one
because he's with her longer than he was with Solenn, who was his girlfriend for 4 years.

But Derek should have not answered that question, 'coz it was like who's better in bed or who tastes more delicious for him. Lolit Solis
even titled her article on Pilipino Star Ngayon this way: "Kesa sa ex
na si Solenn, Derek mas nasarapan kay Angelica!"

Solenn reportedly got offended with Derek's comparison of her and Angelica that she immediately fired back and said that Richard Gutierrez, who's being linked to her, as more "gwapo" and more gentleman than Derek, as reported on Pilipino Star Ngayon.

Claudine Barretto - Angelica Panganiban alleged Twitter War

Was Angelica Panganiban really the subject of Claudine Barretto's angry Twitter posts like August 4, 2010?

If you're going to look back at the Twitter posts of Claudine and Angelica, it's very unclear that there's a rift going on between the two.

On July 24, Claudine attached this picture on her tweet to Angelica: "I luv you baby sis ko! Miss you super!"

Angelica, on one hand, responded by recalling the characters they portrayed in ABS-CBN's "Iisa Pa Lamang", "tama!!! Scarlet and Katherine :)"

According to Claudine, it was taken at the house of their friend Martin Castro. And Angelica's boyfriend Derek Ramsay was also with them. During that time also, Angelica hasn't made "peace" yet with Claudine's sister Gretchen Barretto.

So it's contrary to the reports that Claudine and Angelica had a heated argument at Martin Castro's birthday party, because Claudine was still able to tweet that after the party.

Claudine also tweeted, "@IamAngelicaP baby sis! I super miss you, hope all is well with you! You know that I love you so much di ba?"

It turned out though that it will be the last "tweet exchange" between Claudine and Angelica.

Then on August 4, Claudine made her Twitter followers wonder with her numerous angry messages to an unidentified person. Read on...

"Tweethearts ano ba dapat gawin sa traydor na kaibigan na walang magawa sa buhay kundi siraan ako, asawa ko, kaibigan ko at pangalan ko ng mga anak ko!!! Don't mess with my family ang stand ko!"

"sana di ka pa nalulunod sa success, sana ma-remember mo yung magagandang bagay na ginawa namin ng family ko for you. Sana."

Way too long.

It's indeed not clear if it's Angelica or not. When you read Angelica's tweet the same day, there was no sign that she was fighting with someone else.

But Claudine gave out a clue the same day as to whom she's addressing her tweets: "Itago na lang natin siya sa pangalang --------!!!!"

It's an 8-letter name and incidentally, Angelica has 8 letters.

On August 8, four days after those tweets by Claudine, Angelica apologized to Gretchen Barretto on The Buzz over what she said to the latter back in June.

In a recent interview, Claudine opted not to reveal the name of the girl she's at war with. When asked if it was Angelica, she neither confirmed nor denied.
