Art Deco Dreaming
Elongated silhouettes, clean angular lines and blocks of bold color accompanied with pencil-thin detailing all depict the art deco trend that took the Spring 2012 runways by storm. J. Mendel's collection was particularly restrained in it's sleek silhouettes and showed Art Deco influence in ever piece from his beaded column dress to his color-blocked chiffon dresses. BCBG's line heavily featured geometric designs and Carolina Herrera was also inspired by the distinct artistic styling.

Taking the Plunge
We were introduced to the plunging neckline trend for Fall 2011, but according to NYFW's Spring shows, we can look forward to more sexy sternums. Ralph Lauren's runway dazzled with an ultra-glamorous beaded sliver gown with an extreme v, while all walks of design styles—from preppy and retro to dark and edgy—followed suit.
