Billy Crawford, Karylle new 'Showtime' hosts

Billy Crawford and Karylle were welcomed as new hosts on ABS-CBN's Showtime this morning.

Showtime is back on the morning slot, 10:15 AM, starting today, February 12, to give way for the newest noontime variety show 'Happy Yipee Yehey!' which airs at 12:15 PM.

Billy and Karylle now join Vhong Navarro, Anne Curtis, Vice Ganda, Kuya Kim, Jugs and Teddy as hosts of Showtime.

The two were also former judges of the show. Billy was a judge during the 8th week of Season, that was from December 14 to 19, 2009, while Karylle was among the longest-staying judges, having judged for 13 weeks, from October 4, 2010 to January 22, 2011.

Both Billy and Karylle opted for a voluntary eviction.

Karylle shared to the Madlang Pipol that she really didn't like to do self-eviction last January 22. According to her, she was only forced by her manager to do it and she had no idea that she'll be added as host in the show.

She was actually announced as host on the spot after performing a song and dance number today.

The move to add one more male and one female hosts is quite fine 'coz sometimes Vhong or Anne is absent from the show to do other commitments.

Poster & publicity photos for the movie "Bulong"

Star Cinema has released the official poster and publicity photos for
its opening salvo this 2011, the movie "Bulong" starring Vhong Navarro and Angelica Panganiban.

The poster for "Bulong", as shown above, was unveiled late last night while the publicity photos (below) were released online earlier
tonight as the movie presscon was ongoing at the Dolphy Theater.

Angelica even told her Twitter followers to watch for her photos. "Taray ng bago kong pictures :) tumutok lang
kayo :)".

And Angelica is right. She's so "tarush" in her pics.

Directed by the box-office director Chito Roño, "Bulong" also stars
Bangs Garcia, Jon Avila, Eda Nolan, Teddy Corpuz, Sylvia Sanchez, Neri Naig, Lara Morena and many more.

It's coming in theaters this February 2, 2011.

ABS-CBN Christmas 2010 Special: John Lloyd Cruz & Bea Alonzo back in each other's arms

John Lloyd Cruz is paired up once again with his perennial loveteam Bea Alonzo during the ABS-CBN 2010 Christmas Special held in Araneta on Tuesday evening, December 14th.

Angel Locsin, John Lloyd's current leading lady in "Imortal", was sick so she failed to attend the said event, but good thing Bea is always there for John Lloyd.

Bea and John Lloyd were among the 4 pairs in a number featuring the "teleserye loveteams". The other 3 pairs were Vhong Navarro and Toni Gonzaga (Kokey), Cristine Reyes and Zanjoe Marudo (Martha Cecilia's Kristine) and Anne Curtis and Jericho Rosales (Green Rose).

Teaser trailer released for "RPG Metanoia", a 3D animated movie

Aga Muhlach, Eugene Domingo, Vhong Navarro, Mika dela Cruz and Zaijain Jaranilla will lend their precious voices for the animated film "RPG Metanoia".

A co-prod of Star Cinema and Ambient Media, "RPG Metanoia" is the first ever 3D animated movie in the Philippines.

It opens in cinemas on December 25, 2010 as one of Star Cinema's 2 official entries in the Metro Manila Film Festival 2010.

'Idol' to host Wowowee this Saturday, May 15

ABS-CBN's Wowowee will have an 'Idol' host this Saturday, May 15, and
I hope, whoever that 'Idol' is, he'd be hosting not just only for a
day, but for good.

People are excited to know who's the 'Idol' host and first name that
comes to our mind is Robin Padilla, an action superstar who's been
fondly called as 'Idol' by his fans.

But Vhong Navarro could also be the 'Idol' especially that he could
imitate Robin Padilla. Vhong has been the #1 most requested
replacement for Willie Revillame.

Some have also cited Sen. Bong Revilla as the 'Idol' probably because
of his past show in the rival station (Idol Ko Si Kap).

But John Lloyd Cruz could also be the 'Idol'. He's the #1 matinee idol today.

Willie's fans are also hoping that the 'idol' being referred to will
still be Willie. Are you still open to have a transformed Willie in
the show, probably a humbling and apologetic Willie?

Toni Gonzaga replaces Angel Locsin in 'Kokey @Ako'

As what I have reported before, Angel Locsin might not be able to do her part on ABS-CBN's Kokey @ Ako because of another teleserye assigned for her where she'll gonna be paired with John Lloyd Cruz.

It indeed happened as Angel Locsin will now be replaced in the said fantasy series by Toni Gonzaga.

Toni is actually a better replacement for the soap especially that she will be reunited with Vhong Navarro, who was her leading man in two Star Cinema movies: D' Anothers and My Only U.

Also in the cast are Melai Cantiveros, Jason Francisco, Carla Humphries, Enrique Gil, Bugoy Cariño, Philip Nolasco and a lot lot more.

It will be directed by Wenn V. Deramas and they will finally start shooting tomorrow.

'Showtime' is back on January 19 - Yes! Finally!

After being suspended by the MTRCB last January 11, ABS-CBN's morning show "Showtime" will be back starting tomorrow, January 19, 2010.

That is after the Court of Appeals has issued the Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) dated last Friday, January 15, 2010, lifting the 20-day preventive suspension given by the MTRCB to "Showtime".

The show's hosts Vhong Navarro, Anne Curtis and Kim Atienza happily announced this good news to the televiewers earlier on "Magpasikat", which temporarily replaced "Showtime".

Here's a portion of the resolution made by the Court of Appeals:

"For reasons afore-stated, and as prayed for by petitioner, let a TEMPORARY RESTRAINING ORDER be issued, as it is hereby issued, effective sixty (60) days from notice hereof, enjoining respondent MTRCB, including any and all persons acting in their behalf and under their command and authority, from continuing to enforce the Preventive Suspension Order dated January 11, 2010 issued against petitioner, pending the resolution of the instant petition."

Now this makes me truly happy!

But I hope the show will be extra careful this time by choosing the right judges and to remind its resident judge Vice Ganda to also guard himself in saying very insulting words to the contestants and also, "double meaning" words/lines like "buhok sa ngipin" etc.

He also constantly described group performances as "Hayop!" as if he was throwing a curse to them.

Nonetheless, I'm so excited that "Showtime" back on TV and see some changes in the show.
