ABS-CBN will launch its Summer 2011 Station ID this coming Sunday, March 27, 2011, at 12:15 PM right before ASAP Rocks Cebu special.

Billy Crawford, Karylle new 'Showtime' hosts

Billy Crawford and Karylle were welcomed as new hosts on ABS-CBN's Showtime this morning.

Showtime is back on the morning slot, 10:15 AM, starting today, February 12, to give way for the newest noontime variety show 'Happy Yipee Yehey!' which airs at 12:15 PM.

Billy and Karylle now join Vhong Navarro, Anne Curtis, Vice Ganda, Kuya Kim, Jugs and Teddy as hosts of Showtime.

The two were also former judges of the show. Billy was a judge during the 8th week of Season, that was from December 14 to 19, 2009, while Karylle was among the longest-staying judges, having judged for 13 weeks, from October 4, 2010 to January 22, 2011.

Both Billy and Karylle opted for a voluntary eviction.

Karylle shared to the Madlang Pipol that she really didn't like to do self-eviction last January 22. According to her, she was only forced by her manager to do it and she had no idea that she'll be added as host in the show.

She was actually announced as host on the spot after performing a song and dance number today.

The move to add one more male and one female hosts is quite fine 'coz sometimes Vhong or Anne is absent from the show to do other commitments.

Star Power Final 5 contestants named

Star Power: Sharon's Search for the Next Female Pop Superstar will have 5 contestants competing in the grand finals happening this February, 2011.

As announced on the show's episode last night, they decided to have 5 contenders on the grand finale instead of the planned Final 4 because the remaining 5 contestants are all worthy of a spot in the finals.

While it may sound favorable to the 5 contestants, it didn't ring good to some of the fans who've been voting online and via SMS, because they felt that their votes were totally ignored.

That's actually one of the flaws of Star Power. We are not sure if the votes are really being considered because it's not being revealed and for the judges, viewers' votes totally don't exist.

Judge Bobot Mortiz once said this to a contestant who ranked in the Bottom 4, "Nagtataka talaga 'ko kung bakit palagi kang napapasama sa Bottom 4." Didn't he know that text votes are part of the contestants' scores?

I also hope that there will be a separate judges on the finals because the resident judges have been playing favorites. Judge Billy Crawford was caught last night labeling one of the 5 contestants as "my favorite" while he was announcing her name as one of the Final 5.

But with judges having a clear favorite among the contestants could mean she could be the winner already, because the judges are already close of the possibility that other contestants might get ahead of her.

I'm not against any of the Final 5. I actually like them all for they really have what they call as the "star power". It's just that I want the judges to be fair to all of them.

If they can't have new judges on the finals, better tell the current judges to stop revealing who their favorites are because their judging becomes subjective already.

On Star Power Official Facebook Page, viewer Sherlyn Lorenzo posted this comment after last night's episode: "Kelangan pa pu b mgvote?ei di b me favorite n ang mga judges?:(sure b na ang boto ng ta0ng bayan ang mgpapanalo s mpipili nlang krapat dpat s pwesto?o ang ch0ice din ng mga judge?.haay....may the best gurl win nlng...gudluck s final 5..."

She has a point.
