LATEST UPDATE:Chat Almarvez won as 1st Runner Up during the Ford Models' Supermodel of the World 2010 finals held in São Paulo, Brazil last January 14th. The winner was Karlina from Latvia (Baltics).
It's the Philippines' highest placement in the competition in 24 years.

Charlene Louise 'Chat' Almarvez, 16-year-old La Salle-CSB student from Laguna, will be the Philippine representative in the Ford Models' Supermodel of the World 2010 competition to be held this January in Sao Paolo, Brazil.
She earned that privilege after winning during last night's Ford Supermodel of the World Philippines 2009 search held at the SMX Convention Center Hall 2.
Chat competed against 9 other gorgeous Pinay models including two former Binibining Pilipinas candidates.
In the Top 3 was former Binibining Pilipinas-World 2008 titleholder Janina San Miguel. I must admit, she was so awesome last night, but not good enough to beat statuesque, stylish and very Pinay-looking Chat Almarvez.
Mary Tiffany Jones, a candidate of Binibining Pilipinas 2009, also competed in the said contest which was a part of the still-ongoing Philippine Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2010.
Almarvez ,who's turning 17 on January, will compete against 50+ international winners from different countries and if she wins, she'll receive a modeling contract worth $250,000 with Ford Models.
Two notable Filipina finalists of Ford Supermodel of the World competition was Mimilanie 'Melanie' Marquez who won as 1st Runner Up in 1986 and Sharon 'Charo' Ronquillo as 2nd Runner Up in 2006.
