The 25-year-old Male Diva and former construction worker from Cavite took home a cash prize of P2 million.

Pilipinas Got Talent Season 2 Grand Finals Performance Night Videos

PILIPINAS GOT TALENT SEASON 2
Grand Finals - Performance Night
June 25, 2011, Araneta Coliseum

Fourteen (14) grand finalists showcased their talents in Araneta Coliseum last night, June 25, 2011, all hoping to be the grand winner of Pilipinas Got Talent Season 2 and win 2-million pesos.

Despite lacking in variety, the performances of the grand finalists were generally superb and (I think) more entertaining to watch than the last season.

Receiving standing ovation from all 3 judges last night was Marcelito Pomoy, who did an impressive rendition of "The Prayer" using both his male and female voices. Yeah, you've heard it right and he did it with perfection, as what judge Kris Aquino said.
Aside from Marcelito's performance, the following acts were also outstanding and highly-applauded on last night's grand finals of Pilipinas Got Talent Season 2:

NielBeth, ballroom dancing duo

Rico, the Magician

Happy Feet, tap dancing brother / duo

Freestylers

Here are the performances from the other grand finalists:

B4, dance group

Madrigal Siblings

Buildex Pagales, Bruno Mars of the Philippines

Angel Calalas, hula hoop tricker

Jem Cubil, singer

Skeights, band

Pilipinas Got Talent Season 2 Grand Finals: Who should win? (Poll)

Pilipinas Got Talent Season 2 Grand Finalists are now complete with Rico The Magician and the Skeights being named as the 13th and 14th grand finalists of the season after they won the wildcard round held on Independence Day, June 12 (Sunday), at the AFP Theater.

Of the 14 PGT Season 2 grand finalists, more than half come from Luzon (8) and three (3) each from the Visayas and Mindanao.

Just like in Season 1, the grand finalists are mostly singers.

PGT Season 2 is actually lacking in variety. 50% of the grand finalists are singers and 5 are dancers, 1 is a hula hoop tricker and 1 magician. (That explains why there was a need to hold a wildcard competition.)

Angel Calalas, 22, Cainta, Rizal (Hula Hoop Tricker)
B4, Baguio City (dance group)

Pilipinas Got Talent Season 2: Jem Cubil Semi-Finals Performance

It's the 3rd week of Pilipinas Got Talent Season 2 Semi-Finals and another batch of 6 semi-finalists took the stage tonight, May 14, 2011, to compete for 2 slots in the grand finals.

Who do you think would own those 2 slots in the finals?

This 3rd batch of semi-finalists of Pilipinas Got Talent Season 2 actually isn't hard to judge, as opposed to what judge Ai-Ai delas Alas said that it was a tough batch just like the previous 2 semi-final weeks.

Among the 6 semi-finalists who competed tonight, I'm sure most of you would like 17-year-old Jem Cubil from Talisay City, Cebu to advance to PGT Season 2 finals, while the other slot could either be for Dance Selection or Happy Feet.

For his semi-final performance, Jem Cubil sang David Cook's "Time of My Life" as he played the guitar.

Did you like his performance? Or did you like him as he is, Jem Cubil a good-looking teen guy who can sing well and play the guitar?

Kris Aquino and Ai-Ai delas Alas, just like how they admired Markki Stroem in Season 1, have appreciated Jem's looks and charm more than his musical talent.

Ai-Ai said: "Napaka-fresh mo ngayong gabi na 'to. Ang cute cute mo ngayong gabing ito." while Kris said: "Pamatay ang kagwapuhan mo!"

As a viewer myself, I actually didn't care about his singing. I was just looking at his face and smile as he stood there on stage. He was looking his best tonight.

Jem Cubil Pilipinas Got Talent Season 2 finalists

Jem Cubil photo, PGT Season 2 contestant

I know this is Pilipinas Got Talent and not a star-search hunting for both good-looking and talented, but I think having the ability to charm the audience, which is a quality that every performer should have, is a talent and Jem has it.

Watch Jem Cubil's PGT Semi-Finals Performance:

***

This is how Mykiru's Poll ranks this week's batch of PGT Season 2 semi-finalists:

1. Happy Feet, Bukidnon (Tap Dancing Brothers/Duo)
2. Jose Emmanuel "Jem" Cubil, 17, Talisay City, Cebu (singer / musician)
3. Dance Selection, Taguig City (cheerdancers / acrobats)
4. Collins Gutierrez, 24, San Pedro, Laguna (singer)
5. Rafael Pavia, 5, Matina, Davao City (singer)
6. Zaldy Carlos, 38, Tondo, Manila (singer)

If Jem Cubil doesn't get the highest votes and be pitted against Happy Feet or Dance Selection for the judges' votes, he'll find it hard to enter the grand finals. Judge FHM might not pick him while judges Ai-Ai and Kris will be having a hard time to make a decision.

Here's how to vote for your favorite contestants:

Just type

PGT HAPPY for Happy Feet
PGT JEM for Jem Cubil
PGT DANCE for Dance Selection
PGT COLLINS for Collins Gutierrez
PGT RAFAEL for Rafael Pavia
PGT ZALDY for Zaldy Carlos

and send it to 2331 for Globe, TM and Sun Cellular subscribers or 231 for Smart and Talk 'N Text.

Pilipinas Got Talent (PGT) Season 2's first 2 grand finalists: Freestylers, Madrigal Siblings

The Freestylers, a dance group from Calamba, Laguna, becomes the 1st Pilipinas Got Talent Season 2 grand finalist when the group got the highest number of text and online votes during the first semi-finals' results night Sunday, May 1, 2011.

They got a high 46.32% of the total votes, which was more than half of the 2nd placer, Romarico Sanorjo aka Rico The Magician, who only had 22.31%.

Rico The Magician and the 3rd placer, the Madrigal Siblings which got 14.11%, had to compete against each other to win the judges' votes and earn the 2nd slot to the grand finals.

Judge FMG picked Rico The Magician while Kris Aquino and Ai-Ai delas Alas chose the Madrigal Siblings, who gave an outstanding performance of "Ako Ay Pilipino".

PILIPINAS (PGT) 1ST SEMI-FINALS RESULTS:
1. Freestylers, Calamba, Laguna (dance group) 46.32% - VOTERS' CHOICE
2. Romarico Sanorjo aka Rico The Magician, 60, Caloocan City 22.31%
3. Madrigal Siblings, Cainta, Rizal (singing trio) 14.11 - JUDGES' CHOICE
4. Brian Brady, 10, Cabungaan, Laoag City (Filipino-raised American singer) 7.80%
5. Jeremie Tampoy, 29, Maa, Davao City (Blind singer and pianist) 5.09%
6. Light Gauge Acoustic, Eroreco, Bacolod City (band) 4.36%

***

It was actually a surprise that the Freestylers won the votes bigtime. I actually thought Rico The Magician will top the votes.

Mykiru has this poll for the Top 36 semi-finalists, and among the first batch of 6 semi-finalists who competed Saturday night, it's Rico The Magician who was ahead of the others.

Mykiru's PGT Poll Ranking, as of May 1:
1. Marcelito Po Moy
2.Rico The Magician
3. Buildex Pagales
4. Happy Feet
4. Madrigal Siblings
6. Kenny Padalla
7. Brian Brady
8. Karinyoso Boys
9. Angel Calalas
9. B4
9. Jeremie Tampoy
9. Kapidamu Band
9. Skeights
14. Freestylers
14. Suwahib Samplidan
16. Filogram
16. First Beat Effect
18. Jem Cubil
19. Collins Gutierrez
19. DJP Trio
19. Jacqueline Schubert
19. Larvae
23. Dance Selection
23. Gracelle & Kristelle Lapinid
23. Next Generation Band
23. Rafael Pavia
23. Virgilio Del Carmen
28. Genevieve Arandia
28. Madonna Pianista
28. Zaldy Carlos
31. John Michael Narag
31. Leoniel Enopia and Elizabeth Dazo
31. Light Gauge Acoustic
34. Bourbon
35. Joy's Divas
35. Maribeth Callanta

If you notice, except for Freestylers, the order in the poll ranking of the first batch of 6 semi-finalists is also the order in the actual results.

I actually sided with judges Kris and Ai-Ai in choosing the Madrigal Siblings over Rico The Magician. The latter was impressive, however, there was no more impact when he performed again Sunday the same tricks and magic he did Saturday night. He should have prepared a new magic to perform for the audience and the viewers.

Unlike the Madrigal Siblings, the trio were able to sustain tonight their great performance from last night's competition and you would love to hear them singing again and again even if they sang the same song.

As what Kris Aquino said, the Madrigal Siblings gave a hair-raising performance, to which I also agree.

But definitely, Rico The Magician was also deserving to be part of the grand finals, very much deserving.

If you were to be asked, were you satisfied with tonight's results?

Collins Gutierrez, Pilipinas Got Talent Season 2 contestant

Tonight's episode of Pilipinas Got Talent featured 24-year-old Collins Gutierrez, a music teacher and an experienced stage performer from San Pedro, Laguna.

For his audition piece, Collins sang Wency Cornejo's "Hanggang" which sounded so great and earned him a big "YES" from the 3 judges.

And definitely that's what others are also saying, especially those who have joined his newly-made Facebook Page.

When I visit the page, there were only 250 likes (as of 9:30 PM, Apr. 3) but only after 10 minutes, the number of likes doubled to 581, and still counting.

He took up his high school at the Colegio San Agustin in Biñan, Laguna.

Collins finished his studies in Australia at the Sydney Conservatory of Music in 2008 and he already performed in various venues in Australia.

When he moved back to the Philippines the same year, he staged solo shows in different malls and later performed with the Serenata Strings band usually in SM Malls.

In October 2010, he was awarded as one of the "Notable Global Pinoys" by SM Supermalls.

Kenny Padalla's PGT audition has just been shown on tonight's episode where he sang 'I Believe I Can Fly' and received 3 "YES" from the judges.

It's good to see Kenny joining a talent search again.

In 2009, he already joined StarStruck V on GMA 7 using the name Kenyn Padalla but he only made it to the Top 60.

Kenny is also a Registered Nurse. He graduated from the University of the Cordilleras-Baguio Colleges Foundation and passed the Nursing Board Exam in February 2009.

Pilipinas Got Talent: Buildex Pagales dubbed as the Philippines' Bruno Mars

15-year-old Buildex Pagales singing two Bruno Mars hits ('Billionaire', 'Just The Way You Are') is among the favorite acts on Pilipinas Got Talent (PGT) Season 2.

Just minutes after his audition was shown on PGT's episode last Sunday, Buildex immediately made it to the Top 10 trending topics on Twitter worldwide as viewers expressed their admiration to this teenage boy from Digos City, who has an amazing Bruno Mars voice and is now being dubbed as the Bruno Mars of the Philippines.

It's only the audition stage, and yet a contestant of Pilipinas Got Talent Season 2 has already made it to Twitter's trending topics. That's something!

Even PGT judge Kris Aquino, who's a Bruno Mars fan, posted a tweet on Twitter praising Buildex. "Yehey!!! I love Buildex - such an inspiring story!"

Yeah, he has an inspiring story to back him up just like Season 1 winner Jovit Baldivino. (Buildex shared that his mother is a "kakanin" vendor.)

Also in the same evening, two newly-made Facebook pages instantly reached 1,000 likes, and as I write this, one of those pages already has over 3k likes while the other one has more than 7k likes.

Buildex's audition video on Youtube is also getting lots of views and in just one day since it was posted, it already attracted 33k views.

Watch his video and help him reach 100k views:

With that, Buildex Pagales and male diva Marcelito Po Moy are already being expected to reach the finals. That's for sure!

Hottie Kevin James Sisco on Pilipinas Got Talent Season 2

This cutie, hottie guy named Kevin James Sisco has auditioned on Pilipinas Got Talent Season 2, as shown on tonight's episode.

Kevin James Sisco photo, Pilipinas Got Talent (PGT) Season 2 contestant

Kevin James Sisco hot

What can you say?

Kevin James Sisco is 20 years old from San Francisco, California.

For his PGT audition, he performed a song and the crowd loved it (I guess the viewers too.). But the judges weren't one in giving a "yes" to him.

Sir FMG and Ai-Ai delas Alas gave him "YES" but Kris Aquino surprisingly said "NO". (Why Kris?)

But 2 "yes" is enough, so Kevin James is moving to the next round.

I think he's Markki Stroem of the Season.

According to bbdivine who posted the photos above at Missossology forum last September, Kevin James is Fil-Italian and was discovered by Arnold Vegafria (manager of PGT host Billy Crawford.)

More pics of Kevin James, who I think is a mixture of Rafael Rosell, Troy Montero and Orlando Bloom:

Hope to see him on the finals of PGT Season 2.

Pilipinas Got Talent Season 2: Marcelito Pomoy, who sings like Regine Velasquez, is an early favorite

Pilipinas Got Talent Season 2 contestant Marcelito Pomoy from Imus, Cavite, has become an instant favorite by the viewers of the said reality talent search after his audition was shown last night, March 5, 2011.

During the audition, Marcelito Pomoy sang Regine Velasquez's 'Narito Ako' to the surprise of the judges and the audience 'coz he sounds very much like Regine.

Yeah, and he is not an 'Anton Diva' 'coz when judge Kris Aquino asked, "Lalake ka talaga?" Marcelito said "yes".

He was also asked to sing more. He sang another Regine hit 'Sana Maulit Muli' and the song "Hanggang Ngayon", a duet of Ogie Alcasid and Regine.

For 'Hanggang Ngayon', he was able to do "doble-kara", sounding like both Ogie and Regine.

Marcelito's got an incredible talent that even judge Ai-Ai delas Alas commented, "Tapos na ang contest. May winner na."

Watch Marcelito Pomoy's audition video for Pilipinas Got Talent Season 2 and be amazed:
