Anne Curtis' gorgeous 16-year-old sister Jasmine Curtis is officially entering
Philippine showbiz via TV5 or the Kapatid network.
Jasmine Curtis will soon be the next Princess of TV5 as she topbills the TV
remake of "Ang Utol Kong Hoodlum", a boxoffice movie during the 90's and starred Robin Padilla and Vina Morales.
She will be the leading lady of JC De Vera, who's being dubbed as the Prince of TV5.
This comes as a surprise because all we thought Jasmine will finish her studies first before she enters showbiz.
And it brings disappointment to the Kapamilya viewers who were expecting Jasmine to join sister Anne Curtis on ABS-CBN.
Jasmine started to gain her own fans and followers when she used to appear on the 1st season of "Showtime", where Anne is one of the hosts.
She even had a major production number with Anne in the show last January.
Jasmine reportedly had an offer from the Kapamilya network, but she rejected it 'coz she had to prioritize her studies.
But here she is now being launched as a new TV5 star.
Some of her 70,000+ followers on Twitter reportedly are threatening to
stop following her just because she's not going to be a Kapamilya.
On her official Tumblr account, Jasmine has defended herself and explained why she chose TV5 over ABS-CBN or any other network.
And she said, "Sad to know though that so many of you are very
disappointed and are threatening to stop "idolizing" or following me
with something I enjoy. I know that you all expected that I would be a Kapamilya, considering the obvious fact that my sister is part of
ABS-CBN. I would've loved to be a Kapamilya or even a Kapuso, but TV5
gave me the best offer anyone studying could ever receive."
Jasmine confirmed that there was indeed an offer from a TV Network before to do a TV show, but it required her to work full-time and leave her studies behind in Australia.
Meanwhile, the offer made by TV5 which she accepted would allow her to juggle showbiz and studies. "I chose to be a part of TV5 because they are very much willing to work around my school schedule, which is of utmost priority, as well as give me a great project as a beginner in the industry," she said.
