Miss Mauritius 1993 and Bollywood model / actress Viveka Babajee was found dead at her residence in Bandra, Mumbai, India last night.
According to Thaindian News, Viveka is believed to have taken her own life by hanging herself. She was 37 years old.
In Bollywood, Viveka was initially called the "Kamasutra Girl" after she appeared in Kamasutra Condom ads. She was soon after a successful fashion model and actress in India.
An Indian born in Mauritius, Viveka was crowned Miss Mauritius 1993. She then represented her country in Miss World 1993 held in South Africa and Miss Universe 1994 in Manila, Philippines.
Before settling in India, Viveka had a brief modeling stint in the Philippines. While in country in 1994, she got involved in the Manila Film Festival Scam / Scandal when she announced Ruffa Gutierrez as Best Actress winner instead of Aiko Melendez.
The incident happened in June 1994. 16 years after, Viveka died also in the month of June.
