The Filipino version of Koreanovela hit All About Eve premiered last Monday, March 09, on GMA Telebabad with a very low 26.1% ratings in Mega Manila, according to AGB Nielsen survey.
The figure has become the second lowest pilot rating by a GMA primetime TV series in the last three years, next to that of Atlantika.
All About Eve stars a powerhouse cast composed of Richard Gomez, Jean Garcia, Eula Valdez, Iza Calzado and Sunshine Dizon, but it seems like it didn't help that much especially in beating ABS-CBN's consistent toprater Tayong Dalawa.
With Luna Mystica's exlusion and All About Eve's inclusion in GMA's Telebabad, the network's line-up of primetime shows (Totoy Bato, Ang Babaeng Hinugot Sa Aking Tadyang and All About Eve) has become unimpressive and is intended for mature audiences, unlike the family-friendly primetime TV series of ABS-CBN (May Bukas Pa, I Love Betty La Fea and Tayong Dalawa).
Taking a look at the pilot ratings of GMA 7's primetime TV series in the last three years, it seems like only Richard Gutierrez and even Robin Padilla (not Dingdong Dantes nor Marian Rivera) could give GMA a consistent all-time highest pilot ratings in Philippine TV history.
Not counting Mulawin, Richard has 4 shows (Kamandag, Codename: Asero, Lupin and Captain Barbell) with an all-time highest pilot ratings. Robin Padilla, on one hand, has three (Asian Treasures, Totoy Bato and Joaquin Bordado).
With that, GMA's next big hope is the Pinoy version of Zorro, starring Richard Gutierrez, which airs sometime this Summer 2009.
