The Philippine Azkals faced Sri Lanka in its first qualifying playoff for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

The Azkals (Philippines) vs Sri Lanka football match happened at the Colombo Sugathadasa Stadium with live coverage on Studio 23 which started at 5:20 PM and the game kicked off at 6:30PM.

But the Philippines vs Sri Lanka playoff was predicted to end up as among the 3 most interesting from those 8 matches.

The 2nd leg of the Azkals vs Sri Lanka will be on July 3 to be held at the Rizal Memorial Football Field.

Phil Younghusband only met KC del Rosario once, says Phil's brother James

Phil Younghusband is reportedly dating not only actress Angel Locsin, but also a non-showbiz girl identified as KC del Rosario.

According to an SNN report last Tuesday, June 7, there's a rumor that Phil Younghusband already has a girlfriend (KC) who was once linked to Kapamilya actor Matteo Guidicelli.

When asked about KC during a media launch for his new endorsement (VitWater Power drink), the SNN report showed Phil making no comment and walked out of the venue which led the viewers to think that there may be some truth to the rumor.

SNN host Boy Abunda reacted on the report and seemed unhappy about Phil making no comment and his "walkout" scene.

However, a report on abs-cbnNEWS.com the next day stated that Phil did make a comment about KC during the presscon. "I don't know. I don't know who KC is," Phil told the press, "I don't know anything. I don't know anything about it."

On Twitter (@PhilYHusband), Phil responded to a question from a fan and said that he's not close to anyone named KC.

He also made it clear that he didn't walk out, "To all those who came in the vitpower launch last tue,tnx for coming.sorry wasn't able to stay longr had to leave for training.tnx so much."

So maybe there was just a misunderstanding. Phil had to leave and maybe some people (mis)interpreted it as a walkout.

KC del Rosario meanwhile also posted on Twitter (@kcskyy) last June 8 possibly a reaction to the SNN report about her:

On tonight's newscast of TV Patrol, Phil's brother James was interviewed about Phil and KC during the Azkals Send-Off party organized by ABS-CBN and there James admitted that he knows KC because she's a schoolmate of his girlfriend (Fiona Faulkner) and Phil already met her once.

But he stressed that Angel Locsin is the only girl in his brother's eyes.

“KC goes to the same school as my girlfriend. Just to clarify, Phil met KC once. Angel is only in Phil's eyes,” James said, as reported on TV Patrol.

It's not the first time that Phil got involved in an issue like this one.

Last March, there was also the same kind of rumor that he already has a girlfriend named Denisse Oca and a month after, Phil was also rumored having a child to a woman from Iloilo.

Can't wait for the next rumor.

Phil Younghusband sings for Angel Locsin on "The Sharon Cuneta Specials"

Phil and James Younghusband's guesting on The Sharon Cuneta Specials was finally shown last night, April 17, 2011.

And there, James proudly revealed again that he has a girlfriend. "She is half like me as well." was how he described the girl. (Photo of James and girlfriend HERE)

Phil was asked by Sharon who his ultimate crush and as expected, he answered Angel Locsin. It was so cute how he said Angel's name. He was a bit shy to admit it.(Parang teenager lang haha)

When asked about their favorite song? James answered "The Bright Side" by The Killers while Phil's fave song was "Twist and Shout" by the Beatles.

The two Azkals players also performed in the show when Sharon asked them to sing their favorite love song. James sang "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" while Phil chose a Tagalog song, the Apo Hiking Society classic hit "Ewan", which was dedicated to his crush, Angel Locsin.

Phil and James Younghusband of the Azkals are Sharon Cuneta's guests this coming Sunday, April 17, on her musical show 'The Sharon Cuneta Specials'.

The Younghusband twins will be performing for Mega and the viewers, and as seen in the teaser, Phil sang the classic APO hit "Ewan".

It was not shown in the teaser if James sang the same song, but reportedly he sang a different one, an English song.

Since news broke out early this month that Azkals' James Younghusband already has a girlfriend, search queries about him on Mykiru Isyusero have increased.

The blog received queries like "James Younghusband girlfriend picture", "James Younghusband taken" and "James Younghusband dating", all hoping to see a photo of his girl.

Some were still not convinced that their favorite Azkals player is already taken as they searched these terms: "is james younghusband single?" and "does james has a girlfriend?"

There were also those who searched about the Fil-Brit Azkals player being already married.

So, for those who've been searching for it, here's a photo of James and his girlfriend:

The photo was uploaded by 7th High on their Official Facebook Page and was taken during the club's grand opening.

The girl is identified as Fiona Faulkner, only 18 years old and also half-Filipino, half-British just like James.

Azkals vs Mongolia AFC Challenge Cup 2012 Pre-Qualifying Game Live Updates

It's the 'Azkals vs Mongolia' 2nd pre-qualifying game today, as aired live on Studio 23.It's being held at the 2,500-capacity stadium in Ulan Bator City, Mongolia, and the players are definitely feeling the cold weather.

The game started at 1PM with the Philippine Azkals in blue jersey while the Mongolian Blue Wolves are wearing red.

Phil Younghusband stands out as the only one wearing pink boots. He's wearing this one, the Nike Mercurial Vapor Superfly II:

It's the same type of shoes worn and endorsed by Cristiano Ronaldo of Portugal. Nice one Phil!

Will the shoes bring luck to Phil?

Maybe. But it's his brother James who's feeling the luck 'coz he's the one who scored the first goal for the Azkals during the 3rd minute of the game.

All the Azkals are wearing thermal underwear and James probably has the warmest underwear lol.

It was an early goal, yet it's still too early to celebrate for the Philippine team 'coz Mongolia scored a goal during the 21st minute (by team captain Donorov Lumbengaran) and another one on the 34th minute (by Baysgalan).

Mongolia is definitely enjoying the home advantage and is adjusting well to the cold temperature while the Azkals is suffering from it as well as feeling the loss of Neil Etheridge as its goalkeeper.

Eduardo Sacapano took over Neil's place for this particular game and I hope some fans won't blame him for those 2 goals by Mongolia.

Sacapano was also blamed by some fans when the Azkals lost to a college football team in Japan, 4-0, during their tune-up game last week.

During the 2nd half, Phil Younghusband god injured and had to leave the game. Oh no!

And he's not coming back, making the game a bit boring.

And since the Azkals scored 2 goals against a goal-less Mongolia during Game 1 held in Bacolod last month, it's still the Azkals who's moving to the next round, the group stage qualifying round in Myanmar. They have an aggregate score of 3 while Mongolia has 2.

Phil Younghusband crushes on Angel Locsin & KC Concepcion | Piolo Pascual reacts!

Phil Younghusband of the Azkals has admitted on ABS-CBN's Bandila early this week that his showbiz crushes include Angel Locsin and KC Concepcion. (Good choices Phil!)

It already came to the attention of Angel and KC with both girls feeling flattered to hear about it. (Who wouldn't be?)

In a report from ABS-CBNNews.com, KC even said that Phil reminds her of Sam Milby. (How come?)

Phil himself isn't convinced by it. "Just saw the comments from Angel and KC. Thank you for the comments. Not sure about the Sam Milby thing though ha ha," Phil said on Twitter last night.

It's also last night when SNN reported about Piolo Pascual's reaction on Phil having a crush on his rumored girlfriend KC.

And Piolo isn't threatened at all. "I guess anybody is entitled to that. Hindi naman natin mapigilan ang mga tao to express their intention or say what they feel. May security naman so walang tayong problema," he told SNN.

Phil isn't actually the first to express admiration for KC. There's Apl.de.ap of BlackEyedPeas and even Daboy's son Rap Fernandez.

With many men admiring KC, Piolo becomes very vocal now in expressing love for KC.

He was asked again by the SNN reporter last night if he's referring to KC when he was quoted saying "Yes, I'm in love" in a previous interview.

And Piolo said "Meron pa bang iba?", which is already an official declaration of the real score between Piolo and KC.

KC should be next to publicly declare her love for Papa P.

Going back to Phil, if you're wondering why he and brother James are not in Bacolod for training along with the other Azkals members, it's because the two are in Palawan now.

With whom?

No, just the two of them.

They arrived yesterday and they will conduct there a 2-day "Train the Trainers" sports clinic, a program that they already conducted in Katipunan last Jan. 13 and in Tarlac last January 20 and 21.

By Saturday, Phil and James will follow the other Azkals in Bacolod and join the team's training for their Feb. 9 match against Mongolia which will be held at the Bacolod Stadium.

Phil and James Younghusband: Are they joining Jakarta F.C. 1928? | Their decision will be revealed this week

Phil Younghusband of the Azkals will reveal this week his and brother James' decision about the offer to join Jakarta Football Club 1928 in Indonesia.

According to Phil's tweet posted Sunday afternoon, he can't reveal yet their decision but an announcement regarding that might be made within this week.

"Hey all! I can't answer any questions right now regarding Jakarta FC but hopefully all the speculations will be resolved within the week," Phil said on Twitter.

Oh no! Sounds like he and James already gave their nod to Jakarta F.C. whose officials personally came here in the Philippines to invite the Younghusbands to play for them.

Phil was also posting tweets praising his Indonesian fans, tweets that are actually Phil's responsonses to the fans' queries.

"all the fans in Indonesia are very supportive and I hope to visit Indonesia soon."

Are those tweets an indication that Phil and James Younghusband has accepted Jakarta F.C. 1928's offer? Or it's Phil's way of consoling his Indonesian fans because they turned down the offer?

Azkals player Phil Younghusband to co-host a radio show on Monster RX 93.1 and interview brother James

Azkals hottie player Phil Younghusband will took a break from football and host a radio show.

At least for just 3 hours this Monday, January 3, 2011, Phil Younghusband will be co-hosting a show on Monster Radio RX (93.1 FM) with DJ Gino and DJ Francesca.

Phil himself announced it on Twitter yesterday. "On Monday 3rd of January, I will be co-hosting Monster RX 93.1fm with @monicafrancesca and @ginoboi please tune in and listen. Excited ako!"

We are more excited Phil!

He also promised to entertain questions from the listeners. Oh cool! What are you gonna ask him guys?

And you know what's most exciting with Phil's radio hosting? He's going to interview no other than his own brother and Azkals teammate, James Younghusband.

Tune in to Monster RX 93.1 this Monday, 4 to 7 PM, and hear Phil as host/interviewer and James as the interviewee.

Neil Etheridge, Phil and James Younghusband of the Azkals are all "single"

Neil Etheridge and the Younghusbands, three of the Fil-Brit Azkals players, are all single, according to Phil Younghusband himself.

Azkals striker Phil Younghusband definitely made his fans happy when he revealed on national T.V. that he is very much single.

TV Patrol's Korina Sanchez had a one-on-one live interview with Phil last night and she asked if he has a girlfriend.

Phil gamely answered the question. "Wala, wala na po...Not right now
pero maybe siguro in the future."

And just because of that, Phil immediately made it to the Top 10
Trending Topics on Twitter the same evening.

Korina also asked how many Azkals are still single. Phil cited the names of those who are single and those who are not.

According to Phil, his brother James Younghusband (#7) is also single
as well as Neil Etheridge (#1). But Jason De Jong (#17), Rob Gier (#2) and Ray Jonsson (#27) are already taken.

And how about their goodlooking coach Simon McMenemy? Phil revealed that Simon already has a fiancee. (Yes, he's engaged to marry next year)

Phil and James Younghusband charm Indonesians | Neil Etheridge says sorry for the Azkal's loss to Indonesia

Phil and James Younghusband, the sibling players of the Azkals, have charmed Indonesian girls during their semi-final game at the AFF Suzuki Cup 2010 last Thursday.

According to a report from GMA 7's Saksi last night, Phil Younghusband is now being considered a heartthrob in Indonesia.

[Singer Christian Bautista also enjoys that status in Indonesia.]

On the Twitter world, "Younghusband" made it among the Top 10 Trending Topics on the evening of the fight between Azkals and Team Indonesia.

Indonesian girls reportedly contributed to that because of their numerous tweets expressing admiration to Phil and James.

Nice to know that, but I still can't forget how the Indonesian crowd at the venue made some "boos" everytime the ball was on the side of the Azkals.

The super loud cheers from Indonesians caused so much distraction to the Filipino players, most especially to goalkeeper Neil Etheridge and another player Ray Jonsson.

Neil and Ray couldn't hear each other so clearly. It led to Neil failing to catch the ball because he collided with Ray and gave way to Cristian Gonzales scoring a goal.

Neil reportedly cried at the locker room, blaming himself for what happened.
