Iza Calzado, who always looks gorgeous, is lookin' more gorgeous as she wears the most covetable designer creations in the May 2011 issue of METRO Magazine.

The latest issue is also METRO's 22nd Anniversary issue.

Also featured inside is AJ Perez as he was listed by METRO Mag as one of 2011's Next Big Things.

METRO's list was made before AJ died in a vehicular accident.

Iza Calzado excited to work with Venus Raj in "Beauty Queen"

GMA 7's upcoming primetime series "Beauty Queen" held its story conference yesterday, September 15, 2010, almost a month before its
expected airing on October 18.

Present in the story-con of the teleserye formerly titled "Koronang
Papel" were the cast led by Iza Calzado but not Venus Raj, who's
reportedly joining the show.

On Twitter, Iza has already expressed excitement over the possibility of working with Venus and she said, "Just came from Beauty Queen story conference in GMA! So excited to hear that Venus Raj is joining our cast! Hope you'll like our series."

Also part of the cast is Binibining Pilipinas-World 2008 Maggie Wilson but she isn't sure if Venus is really joining them in the show. "I'm not sure about Venus Raj...she wasn't at the story con earlier... :)"
said Maggie on her Twitter Page.

Tim Yap meanwhile told his Twitter followers that Venus Raj has already made a deal with GMA 7 through Jonas Gaffud's Mercator Model and Artist Management. "Venus Raj finally signs with GMA 7 through Mercator Agency. She'll be in "Beauty Queen" with @MissIzaCalzado." But he deleted that particular tweet minutes later.

I also texted someone close to Venus if it's true that the beauty queen has already closed a deal with GMA and he simply replied, "BPCI ang nagdecide sa mga contracts nya. Binibining Pilipinas is under GMA di ba?"

So, what happened to her supposed entry on ABS-CBN's Magkaribal?

Last September 4, Boy Abunda already confirmed it on The Buzz. "Excited na 'ko sa pagpasok niya sa Magkaribal," he said.

But it seems like she's going in a show that will rival Magkaribal.

If it's indeed true that Venus has signed a deal with the Kapuso, most
of the people who voted on Mykiru's Poll will feel a major, major
disappointment.

I asked them what they like for Venus and a big percentage (71.2%) of the total 493 votes came from people who want her to be a Kapamilya
while only 109 people or 22.11% would like Venus as a Kapuso.

Twenty-two (22) voters or 4.46% meanwhile would not mind if she goes to Kapuso or Kapamilya or any network. As for the remaining 11 votes or 2.23%, they believe Venus is better off as Kapatid or a TV5 artist.

Topel Lee's "White House" movie poster unveiled

The official poster of Director Topel Lee's latest horror film "White House" has been revealed but it doesn't look creepy.

Except that of Iza Calzado, nothing in there would tell you that it's one horrible film.

The pictures of the cast members on the left part are as if they're
promoting a concert event, with some are smiling and others are posing as if it's a glamour shot.

However, I've seen the trailer of "White House" and somehow, it's also
scary just like Topel Lee's past horror films.

Still in celebration of Regal Film's 50th Anniversary, "White House" will hit theaters on October 13, 2010.

Gabby Concepcion and Iza Calzado lead the cast also composed of Lovi Poe, Jairus Aquino, Megan Young, Mo Twister, Janus del Prado, Sarah
Lahbati and Joem Bascon.

Movie Trailer: "White House" - a horror flick from Regal Films

Three days after "Mamarazzi" opened in theaters, Regal Entertainment, Inc. has already released the movie trailer of its next offering, entitled "White House", topbilled by Gabby Concepcion.

Though it's like a combination of some of Regal's horror films in the past, "White House" is still interesting to watch. The trailer is already terrifying and freaky intense.

Is this Gabby's first ever horror film? If yes, then it's extra exciting!

Joining Gabby in the film are Iza Calzado, Lovi Poe, Joem Bascon, Janus del Prado, Megan Young, Mo Twister, Sarah Lahbati, Jairus Aquino, Lui Villaruz, Angel Jacob and Maricar Reyes.

Is it DJ Mo's first ever movie? Oh well, he's still speaking so much English here.

"White House" opens in October in time for Halloween 2010 and is directed by Topel Lee, who helmed "Ouija", "Sundo" and three episodes in "Shake, Rattle & Roll" movies.

Nouveau Belle: Iza Calzado on MEGA Magazine

All About Eve's Nicole Iza Calzado is a Nouveau Belle (New Beauty) in the June 2009 issue of MEGA Magazine, as shot by Jake Versoza at the Manila Ocean Park.

MEGA describes Iza as someone who has a flourishing career, a renewed self-confidence, a passion to live life to the fullest, a newfound love for her body and an urge to see worlds outside her own.

Iza also dished out a bit about her breakup with her longtime boyfriend.

These days, Iza Calzado is looking more radiant and fresher than usual. There seems to be a bright aura that emanates from within her graceful, delicate body. She is a picture of happiness and contentment, not just because her newest soap All About Eve is gaining momentum in the ratings race or that the Hollywood remake of Yam Laranes’ The Echo, in which she appears in, would finally see the light of day. The reason seems deeper, more personal.


It is a different Iza sitting in front of the mirror. If one were to base Iza’s current state of mind on her looks alone, he or she would never ever guess that the young actress was previously sidelined by a breakup, which happened several months ago. Such heartbreaking episode was a turning point in Iza’s life. After all, it’s not easy ending a relationship, especially if that relationship lasted for four years.

The pain and sadness from her breakup with her US-based Fil-Am boyfriend, however, is now water under the bridge. A woman of grace and maturity, two golden traits she developed over the years, Iza is not too keen anymore to talk about certain details about her previous relationship. Displaying magnanimity, she chooses to be quiet and politely declines to answer questions about her former boyfriend. She says he’s “a dear friend and a great guy” and that no amount of prodding, especially from the media, would make her spill the beans because she still has respect for the person.

That part of her life is now but a memory. The experience has helped her see the world in a different perspective. It made her realize her strengths and, more importantly, her weaknesses. Although she claims she’s far from being a total woman, she is more driven now, more focused, and more centered—a huge step up from what she used to be before.

“I am different. I am more driven. I am more focused on my work. I set goals and I strive to achieve them. I wasn’t like that before. Now I want to build a house, purchase this car, excel in this field. Now I think of my future, even my future family. But I don’t have deadlines for these goals,” she says with a smile-- a positive indication of Iza's current state of mind. Yes, she's definitely moving up and moving forward.
