John Gabriel Pelias, UP Summa Cum Laude with GWA of 1.016, opens up about his lovelife

John Gabriel Pelias, a graduating Summa Cum Laude from the University of the Philippines (UP), is making headlines for obtaining a General Weighted Average of 1.016, a record-breaking grade in UP after World War II.

John Gabriel is only 19 years old and is graduating already with a degree of BS Math from the said prestigious university.

GMA News TV's Mariz Umali interviewed John Gabriel yesterday and there he revealed that he obtained such grade by studying so hard and avoiding distractions (probably that includes lovelife?).

He occasionally watches TV, but he doesn't watch movies and is not into gimmicks.

And when asked about his lovelife, John shared he doesn't have a girlfriend and believes in the motto, "Pag dumating, dumating!".

Now you know what to do if you want to achieve such grade.

John Gabriel received mostly flat 1.0 grades in his college subjects and his lowest score was 1.25 (lowest na yan ha) in only 3 subjects (English 1, Filipino 40 and a Math subject), as reported on Philippine Daily Inquirer.

Watch a video of John Gabriel Pelias being interviewed by Mariz Umali: (I love that part when Mariz asked him about his love life)

I like him a lot. He doesn't sound arrogant and intimidating. I salute you John Gabriel. You're an inspiration to all.

And take note...he's not from a well-off family. He was a High School Valedictorian which secured him TWO 4-year-scholarships in UP.

The 2011 Graduation Rites in the University of the Philippines will be this coming Sunday, April 17, where he is set to deliver a Valedictory Address. Expect his speech to be featured in the news.
