Ecuador's Jennifer Pazmiño is Miss Earth 2010's Best in Long Gown | Serbia's Tijana Rakic is Miss Ao Dai

Two major awards were handed out last night at the Miss Earth 2010
pageant in Diamond Place Resort, Nha Trang, Vietnam.

One was the Miss Ao Dai awarded to Miss Serbia Tijana Rakic and the Best in Long Gown which went to Miss Ecuador Jennifer Pazmiño. Both
Serbia and Ecuador are actually considered among the favorites in the
pageant.

The Ao Dai is a traditional costume in Vietnam and Miss Serbia wore it best, beating even Miss Vietnam Luu Thi Diem Huong who failed to be in the Top 5. In an interview by VNExpress.net, Serbia said that she felt like a princess wearing Ao Dai.

The Top 5 finalists for Miss Ao Dai were Chinese Taipei (Hsing
Jung-Lui), Korea (Lee Gui-joo), Nicaragua (Junieth Rosales) and
Philippines (Kris Psyche Resus).

The evening gown competition followed after the Ao Dai round. Miss Ecuador's crystal white gown won for her the Best in Long Gown award:

In the past 9 editions of Miss Earth, the candidates who won as Best in Long Gown all ended up as semi-finalists, with 5 of them placed in the Final 4. But none of them went on to become the Miss Earth

Miss Earth 2010 Press Presentation Photos: Candidates meet the Vietnamese press

The 80+ candidates of Miss Earth 2010 were officially presented to the Vietnamese press today.

And just like the traditional press presentation of Miss Earth in the Philippines the past 9 years, the candidates were holding placards
which contained environmental messages.

But unlike in the previous years though, they're all not wearing
swimsuits at the press presentation in Vietnam, which was a major change for the
pageant now that it's being held for the first time outside the Philippines.

It was also announced at the presscon that Boyzone's Ronan Keating will be the performer during the December 4 finals, to be hosted by Sony Style Asia host Oli Pettigrew and Vietnamese presenter Jennifer Pham.

Tomorrow, November 11, the candidates will have their official photoshoot and a welcome party is prepared for them later in the evening.

Miss Earth 2010 Talent Finals tonight

The Miss Earth 2010 Talent Competition is going to be held tonight at
the Diamond Place in Phu Nhuan District, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Among the Top 18 Finalists who will
showcase their talents tonight are Vietnam (Luu Thi Diem Huong), Guam (Naiomie Jean Santos), Guatemala (Sue Ellen Castañeda), Jamaica (Kai Ayanna McDonald), South Africa (Nondyebo Dzingwa),

20 contestants chosen for the Miss Earth 2010 Talent Competition

The Miss Earth 2010 Talent Competition is happening on Tuesday, November 9, at the Diamond Place in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

More than 50 talented contestants have auditioned but only 20 finalists will be chosen to compete on the Talent Show this Tuesday.

Over 80 candidates are competing for the Miss Earth 2010 title, with the finals happening on December 4 at the Vinpearl Land in Nha Trang, Vietnam. Notably "missing" countries this year are: Albania, Argentina, Greece, Honduras, Israel, Paraguay and Spain, which even had a runner-up last year.

MPE 2010 Kris Psyche Resus Pictures

Morena beauty Kris Psyche O. Resus is Miss Philippines Earth 2010 and will represent the country in the Miss Earth 2010 pageant happening this November in Vietnam.


She, who's 22 years old and stands 5'6", represented the Municipality of Infanta in Quezon Province.


Measuring 33-23-34, Kris also won as Best in Swimsuit.


Kris is now the 10th Miss Philippines Earth titleholder and it's interesting to note that she's only the 3rd Pure Pinay winner of the said pageant and the 2nd morena beauty, after Catherine Untalan in 2006.


She also ended the 3-year streak for Miss Philippines Earth in having Binibining Pilipinas non-finalists or rejects as the eventual winner.
