The Miss World 2009 Beach Beauty competition was held yesterday, November 25, 2009, at the Valley of the Pools in Kwasulu Natal, South Africa.
Winning the coveted title was Miss Gibraltar Kaiane Aldorino, beating more than a hundred beach beauties.
Second place went to Miss Panama Nadege Herrera Vasquez while in 3rd slot was Miss Scotland Katharine Brown.
Miss France Chloé Mortaud was 4th placer while Miss Bolivia Flavia Foianini was 5th.
Top 12 Finalists: Misses Barbados, Indonesia, Mexico, Puerto Rico, South Africa, Vietnam and Zimbabwe.
Top 20 Semi-Finalists: Misses Croatia, Dominican Republic, Ethiopia, Jamaica, Korea, Namibia, United States and Uruguay.
It was the 3rd fastrack event of Miss World 2009 pageant. With that, Miss Gibraltar has advanced to the semis of Miss World 2009 joining Miss Canada Yanbing Ma, Miss Sierra Leone Mariatu Kargbo and Miss Japan Eruza Sasaki, three winners of the previous 2 fastrack events.
She also becomes the first ever candidate from Gibraltar to reach the semis of Miss World beauty pageant.
It's also noteworthy that Miss Gibraltar was also in the Top 12 of Miss Sports and Top 22 of Miss Talent fastracks, the only candidate to achieve such feat in this year's pageant.
The next fastrack event is the Miss World Top Fashion Model on November 28.
This year's finals is scheduled on December 12, 2009.
