It's over for Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker or Spider-Man as Sony Pictures has just announced that Andrew Garfield will be the new Peter Parker for their next Spider-Man movie.

26-year-old Andrew Garfield is American-British and appeared already in a number of Hollywood films like Lions & Lambs, Boy A and The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus (with the late Heath Ledger).

But he's still considered a newbie to most ears.

Thus, being cast as the new Spider-man is Andrew's biggest break in Hollywood.

Tobey played Peter Park in 3 Spider-Man movies directed by Sam Raimi. But the two backed out for the next installment.

The new Spider-Man movie which is planned for release in July 2012 will be directed by Marc Webb.
