"Ang Lihim Ni Antonio" star Kenjie Garcia has just received this month the Best Actor trophy which he won in Spain last January.
Kenjie just got hold the award last week because he wasn't able to receive it personally during the Festival del Sol - Festival de Cine Gay Lésbico de Canarias (Gran Canaria International GLBT Film Festival) held January in Spain. Coco Martin and Baron Geisler movie "Jay" was also screened there.
That time, Kenjie was busy with his studies, a graduating student then at Meycauayan College in Bulacan. (He finally graduated last month!)
I did not heard about his victory being reported on our news. Or maybe I just didn't catch it? The Philippines should be proud of Kenjie's international achievement.
Jay Altarejos' 2008 film 'Ang Lihim Ni Antonio' (Int'l titles: Antonio's Secret / El Secreto de Antonio) also gave Kenjie acting nominations from the PMPC Star Awards and Enpress Golden Screen Awards last year.
The photo above shows the latest Kenjie Garcia, who two years ago portrayed convincingly a 15-year-old boy in the film, when in fact he was 18 already. He's now grown up and hope he'll star in more indie films especially now that he's finished in school.
