Grammy-winning American rapper Lil Wayne (real name: Dwayne Carter) is expecting to be sentenced to one year imprisonment after he pleaded guilty to "illegal gun possession" charges yesterday, October 22, 2009, in New York.
The charge is in connection with the 2007 incident when New York police found a 40-caliber gun inside Lil Wayne's tour bus.
Previously, he pleaded not guilty of the gun charges filed against him by the NYPD police.
Lil Wayne's latest plea was probably done to lessen the sentence to him, originally from more than 3 years to just 1 year.
The hearing starts on January and the sentence might be given on February.
And after that, of course, Lil Wayne will be going to jail to serve the sentence. Goodluck!
