While spending his holiday vacation, Stephen Gately from the famous Irish band Boyzone was found dead at his residence at Port Andratx, Island of Majorca, Spain last Saturday afternoon, October 10, 2009.
According to reports, Gately came from a bar nightout, went back home, then fall asleep at the sofa but he did not wake up.
He was with partner Andrew 'Andy' Cowles during his vacation, but it's unclear though where Andy was at the time of his death.
But the police has been investigating on a certain Bulgarian man named Giorgio whom the two were seen spending the other night with.
The family's spokesperson though ruled out any foul play and believes it was a tragic accident.
The four remaining members of Boyzone, such as Ronan Keating, Keith Duffy, Mikey Graham and Shane Lynch, have already arrived in Majorca Sunday afternoon to mourn for their bandmate's death.
Reports say that the now 4-member group will be having a tribute show there for their departed member.
Originally from Dublin, Ireland, Gately become a member of Boyzone at the age of 14 in 1993.
If you've heard one of Boyzone's hits entitled "No Matter What", one of my fave songs, Gately did most of the lead vocals there.
He admitted he was gay in 1999, then in 2006, he married Andy via civil rights in London.
Gately's last tweet on Twitter: "Still busy - lots going on. Focussing on finishing my book next so may be quiet here."
He was 33. (March 17, 1976 – October 10, 2009)
