Miss Universe Organization owner Donal Trump and Miss California producers fired Miss California USA 2009 Carrie Prejean due to "breach of contract" effective June 10, 2009.
According to Trump's camp, Prejean was fired because she violated or was not in compliance with the agreements stated on her contract with them.
"This was a decision based solely on contract violations, including Ms. Prejean's unwillingness to make appearances on behalf of the Miss California USA organization," said K2 Productions exec Keith Lewis in an official statement.
Miss California 2009 1st Runner Up Tami Farrell will assume title and duties of Carrie Prejean.
It's indeed one fast decision to fire Prejean especially that less than a month ago (May 12), Trump stated that Carrie Prejean could keep the crown despite all the controversies she's figured into.
During the Miss USA 2009 pageant where Prejean was a runner-up last April, she was asked by judge Perez Hilton, a popular American blogger, with the question: “Vermont recently became the fourth state to legalize same sex marriage. Do you think every state should follow suit? Why or why not?"
Prejean answered: "We live in a land where you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite marriage. And you know what, I think in my country, in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anybody out there, but that's how I was raised."
Of course, Prejean was badly criticized with her answer and many wanted the Miss California crown to be stripped off from her.
A week after, she also saw herself in a controversy on her partially nude photos posted on a "dirty" website.
