Joey De Leon questions Yes! Mag's 50 Most Powerful List

"NO THANKS!" was Joey De Leon had to say about being one of Yes! Magazine's 50 Most Powerful People in Showbiz.

On Startalk's episode yesterday, March 21, 2009, Joey De Leon once again was in his "bitter" and "uncontented" self when asked to react about the "50 Most Powerful" list.

According to Joey, the criteria of choosing the 50 Most Powerful Celebrities were unclear to him, "Well, ako, sa akin, sana nabigyan ng weight yung power na...

Kasi you cannot equate power with respect. So, 'yon. Respeto ang number one. Kaya sa akin, okay lang, no thanks. Thank you, but no thanks!"

Even if Joey De Leon did not mention names, viewers are intelligent enough to know who he was referring to, why he said so and why he's not contented with the ranking.

Topping the list is Wowowee host Willie Revillame while Joey De Leon, hosts of six shows (Eat Bulaga, Startalk, Joey's Quirky World, Return of Wow Mali and Mel & Joey) is only #10 on the list.

Not to mention Takeshi's Castle and Nuts Entertainment as well as numerous endorsements, an album and an MMFF 2008 movie, it seems like Joey De Leon had been super busy in the past 15 months, the period of coverage for the said list.

Does he deserve a higher ranking? Will he be happy and contented if he is on top of the list or atleast, he's ranked higher than Willie?

He is still the same "OLD" Joey De Leon.

And talking about Willie Revillame, yes he would sound arrogant if he admits he is the most powerful entertainer and obviously, the highest-paid celebrity in the Philippines today, but I don't like the way he is embracing the issue.

In an interview with Mario Dumaual of TV Patrol World, Willie had to dress up so casual, was in his ordinary shirts, shorts and slippers, and was trying to act like he was a simple, ordinary celebrity.

This is not being plastic.

Really? Were you convinced? I'm not.

The mere fact that he was able to divulge to Yes! Magazine his valuables, properties and belongings last January, his on-cam filing of his income tax return and his interview with Kris Aquino on SNN Showbiz News Ngayon where he showed his 70-million worth luxury yacht, Willie definitely wants to brag about what he has.
