Osama Bin Laden's death in his Abbottabad compound: Taliban releases statement

Osama Bin Laden was killed in his Abbottabad compound by the US armed forces, the Taliban has confirmed Friday, after the al-Qaida also confirmed Osama Bin Laden's death in Abbottabad compound thru a web statement.

Taliban's statement says that al-Qaida leader Osama Bin Laden embraced martyrdom as per the Will of the Almighty Allah during an abrupt attack by the American invading soldiers in Abbottabad compound."

The statement was released thru e-mail, 3 days after the Taliban said that it's pre-mature to issue a statement on Osama Bin Laden's death.

Here are parts from the statement, as reported by Agence France-Presse (AFP):

"The Islamic emirate believes the martyrdom of Sheikh Osama bin Laden will give a new impetus to the current jihad against the invaders in this critical phase of jihad.

"Osama Bin Laden embraced martyrdom as per the Will of the Almighty Allah during an abrupt attack by the American invading soldiers.

"The sapling of jihad has always grown, spruced and reached fructification through irrigation by pure blood.

"The martyrdom of a martyr leads to hundreds more to head to the field of martyrdom and sacrifice.

"Osama Bin Laden reached his ambition with bravery, dedication and commitment in the last moments of his life."


The Afghan Taliban and the Osama-led Al Qaeda are believed as close allies and with their respective statements, it adds confirmation that Osama Bin Laden was really killed by the US Armed Forces.
